July 5th, 2003 08:37 AM #1I was reading an article yesterday evening, it was about the LC80 4500 Gas. They tested mileage while cruising, and concluded 120kph was best for the LC80. Raising the cruising speed to 150kph they consumed 4 times as much gas because the boxy aerodynamic shape was at the limit already.
Does anyone know what the efficient speed for other SUVs would be? Or can we take 120kph as a mean for maximum cruising speed?

For the pajero, the speed would be much lower... say around 90-100Km/h. This may be because of its sheer lack of HP. I noticed that above this speed, i need to rev a lot more for a few km/h's. Nice that you pointed out the fruitlessness of running against aerodynamics. :D

Parang 80-90 kph yung sa akin. Parang lang. Hehehe. But I'm rarely running those speeds on the highway. 130kph is more fun to cruise in.
