Yup, tagal ko na naghahanap niyan. Mukhang walang marunong gumawa dito sa atin, eh.

Basta meron kang design, i can hook you up with somone who can. :D They own a machine shop which makes the "Made in Japan" trailer hitches for Isuzu.
PK,
Sana hindi sobrang mahal. hehehe.

Uy sorry Otep, i just remembered they closed shop na!
Pero meron pa rin akong isa pang kilala. Kelangan lang talaga yung design.
A friend of Freeman can do it. We were planning to imitate side bars also.
para saan ba yan? kung pang slide sa mga rocks di ba dapat mas mababa pa sya sa lowest point the car?

Otep, if you take a look at my samurai, you will see that it has the same concept as the rock slider and it also bolts on to attachments on the frame. While this ladder type, uses 3 mounting points, mine uses only 2 structurally reinforced points since the samurai is a lighter vehicle. I have additional design features that would improve the stepboard's ability to glide through both rocks and mud but have not incorporated them yet. These bars were made by our company's welder so you'll have to find someone to do the actual welding for you. The bars are sturdy enough to be the base of my external rollcage and worked well when I rolled over just recently. One piece of advice though is to make sure that you don't over-engineer this piece of equipment because we do not do the kind of serious rock crawling that the rubicon offroaders do. Trust me on this. it will add too much unnecessary weight. Just build one to protect your vehicle from the occasional rock that might be hiding beneath the mud. Good Luck
P.S. You can probably see this part on my vehicle at http://www.pbase.com/deltarecon
sir wolverine,
may i ask for the design of your roll cage? medyo na-iintriga kasi ako sa design nya e.
are those made of tubings only? if yes, how thick are they?
Tebs:
The cage uses 2 types of tubing (2.0" and 1.25") These are all thick gauge galvanied pipe which we bent using a "mandrel" type process. Since we dont have a mandrel bender, the pipes were first filled and packed with sand and the ends were sealed shut. After sealing, we heated the areas that needed bending and heated those sections before we used a regular bender. This way, the pipes did not collapse and maintained their original diameter. This needs to be done slowly or else the walls will collapse and you will have the same effect as those on regular exhaust pipes. Once the pipes were all bent to the proper shape, we assembled them. The thick pipes protect the cabin while the thinner pipes serve to protect the body from trail damage. If you pay close attention to the whole cage, you will see that the pipes maintain their cylindrical shape all throughout. Hope this helps.

boybi,
It's for protection. Just in case your front tire slips off a rock para hindi madurog ang rocker panels mo. Also great of medyo matalim ang crest ng hill and pwede pang jacking and recovery point.
Here is an interesting discussion on roll cages:

Nicely done! Pwede na ring stepboard. Im sure kayang gawin yan dito sa Pinas.
Yup, parang stepboards lang to the untrained eye. Only difference with this stepboard is that it can support the full weight of the vehicle. hehehe.
Pwede pang jacking point!
