#1 ) Try putting unused/fresh charcoal or baking soda in a can or container and place them in strategic areas around the vehicle. If you plan to have them around when driving, make sure you put them in a container that wont allow them to spill and make a mess inside.

#2) When your vehicle is parked in your home garage (secured preferrably), open all doors, windows, and hatch (if applicable) and aim a fan (stand or desk type, the bigger the better) towards the car interior for an hour or so.

#3) With the same conditions elaborated in #2, you can try leaving the vehicle under the sun.

I dont have any evidence to back it up with but siguro kung medyo luma na ang uling hindi na epektibo ito sa pagabsorb ng odor.

baking soda is a good idea...you can also try fresh coffee ground in a non-spill container under the seat. it absorbs the plasticy smell and emits its own. only a good idea if you like coffee smell.

me too. but this 'new car smell' is toxic. it's the benzene a chemical found in adhesive used in upholsetery. apart from the dizziness, it can cause eye irritation.

yes, you could get rid of that, leave your car parked in the sun with open doors, whenever possible (say, a car lot / park).

That's what I did, left the unit parked under the sun with all hatches open. I also read that thread in Tsikot a while back about the dangers of "new car smell." I also did this to hasten the drying of the tint so I could roll down my confounded windows

Maybe it's not the plastic you can smell, it's the smell of super glue that bonds the plastics in your new car. In time that smell will go away. Yep ako din gusto ko ang amoy ng new car.

if you enjoy the new car smell, tip lang. those are palstic and glue that you are sniffing...cancerous, theoretically.

Ako rin, I love that new car smell! Kaso yun nga, there was an article in the net somewhere about studies showing that scent to be hazardous to one's health. Tsk-tsk, I know of this rich guy who changes cars every 1-2 years, ang dami na niyang exposure sa new car scent.
