I've read sa ibang thread na masama, pangit o ricey daw ang 4x2 lifts. Is this true? Nagdaalawang isip tuloy ako pabodylift si quiksie? Ano kaya ang maganda gawin. Advice naman po mga pips. Pakipost lang advantages or disadvantages when doing bodylifts sa 4x2's.

What is the purpose of your bodylifts? Is it for aesthetics only?

well, from personal experience, lifted vehicles are impractical as a daily driver. this is especially true for elderly people or women in skirts.

now, an offroading guru can correct me if i'm wrong, but a 4x2 is next to useless offroad. the only functionality a lift will give you is better offroad capability.

so basically, you are trading comfort, practicality and a diminished *** life ;) for what? looks? the "rugged" porma?

just my opinion - it's your money...

    depende sa plan mong gamit.

If its a frontier, parang "desert runner" kung nakabody lift. (4x2 lang and desert runner series ng nissan frontier in US). Edge nya is pang fast racing on semi-off road conditions. The lsd rear helps in small to medium problems that normal diff ay mababalaho ka na.

It would be trying hard sa mga purist 4x4 peeps but my opinion ay - its okay as long as you don't go beyond 2 inch body lift. With a 2 inch you can already upgrade to slightly bigger tires (31 or 33's) with lesser rubbing on the wall problems.

In my line of work, I'd do that upgrade.

I want the height of the strada kahit malapit na dun.

tataas yung center of gravity ng sasakyan, which would have a negative effect on handling, aerodynamics, and rollover safety. how much depends on how much you lift

pwede pa naman i-off-road yan, lagyan mo ng diff lock yung rear differential hehe, that would go a very long way.

is there no other way to lift a 4x2? in the states, they sell lots of 3" to 6"suspension lifts for 4x2s. it is actually cheaper than the suspension lifts for 4x4s.

just don't put a 4x4 sticker on it after you lift.

Yung sakin lifted kaunti via coil spacers and longer shackles. Hindi naman ricey coz effective naman siya sa baha. Mas confident din ako sa driving kung mataas coz mas kita ko ang kalye. Wag mo nalang lagyan nung 4x4 kasi obvious naman na hindi eh.

Pwede ka pa mag-suspension lift even after the body lift.

If you are just going after the height of the 4x4 variant, I don't really see any inherent disadvantages.

Just stick to 2" for the body lift and 2" for the suspension lift. Yan na ang max lift. You will get more lift once you install larger tires afterwards.

    Oteps recommendation is good.

For a frontier 4x2 ang last known cost =
A 2" body lift (in Angeles City Pampanga) cost around P7-10K. And a 2" front suspension lift (replacement of the A-arm and rubber bump stops using Calmini) P27K and for the rear you have the option of 1) 2" increase using extended shackles P700-1400 (good quality local made shackles). or 2) you can do a spring-over-axle modification - would probably cost you about P2K-4K. New front and rear shocks might be needed (go for bilstein or rancho -RS9000 yata - get mo yung adjustable) might cost about P4-10K a piece.

to get a 6" total height increase you can then shift from the 30" tires to 34's or taller.

But bigger tires would affect your speed and mileage efficiency....I would recommend re-gearing of the rear differential if you go over 31" tires.

If you plan to do the 6" total lift mentioned above ....I would also suggest getting a different off-set ng mags and a wider tires (10-12" wide) para kahit mataas medyo malapad ang stance. Hindi na ito mabuay. An option of stabilizers sa suspension could also improve handling.

While you're at it, maglagay ka na rin ng wide fender flares (because of the wide tires and different off-set). Marihap maging maputik sa gilid lagi.

Kung hindi ka pa rin happy sa baha....installing a snorkel would also be a good upgrade. BTW you need to modify your differential and transmision breathers (extend it with a plastic hose is a cheap option) para pagdumaan ka sa baha hindi ito papasukan ng tubig.

    my 2 cents.
