okay, for the first time in my life, naubusan ang battery ko ng fluid. (low tech pa battery ko kasi yun ang nakakabit when i bought it). i analyzed the situation and the reason why this happened is because we haven't had a driver for the last month kasi my parents fired him when they left for the States.

now i want to be more self reliant when it comes to my pajero. what are the items that i should look at on a daily, weekly basis.

    1) water in battery
    2) water in radiator
    3) coolant in coolant receptacle
    4) wiper water in all three receptacles
    5) check oil dipstick
    6) air pressure in tires

    anything else?

    according to HAYNES

    every 400km or weekly check:
    -oil level
    -engine coolant
    -windshield washer
    -brake and clutch fluid levels
    -auto transmission fluid level
    -power steering fluid
    -tyres and tyre pressure

can give you list from 5k or 3 months whichever comes first up to
    every 100,000km

there's a motorists guide, named MUST. look for this on the bookstores. its really a roadmap. but there are many useful stuff in there, like what you're asking for, like a sheet that has what to check every so and so kilometers. it also has registration guide, lists of LTO fines, hotels, vacation places, etc. really a very useful reference in your glove compartment.

power steering location depende sa model ng pajero

the HAYNES list comes from the Pajero Haynes repair manual
covering 4g54, V6, 2.5ltr, 2.8ltr engilist is for all engine types above....

will try to post list soon

i can xerox list and other stuff you need from Haynes

swap with xerox of Gen2 owner's manual if you want
    or if anyone's interested

Just open the hood and check fluid container you see. hehehehe.

Also check for leaks or any funny smells.

Don't forget to check stuff like belts and pulleys because they are a pain in the ass to repair by the side of the road.

    advice naman dyan...

yung radiator hose ko kasi since 1992 pa yun when i bought my car and i haven't replaced it yet. so far, OK pa rin sya ang has no sign of cracks, nakapagpalit na nga ako ng radiator a year ago. should i replace the radiator hose na or should i wait na lang na masira ito bago palitan???

Magdala ka na lang ng reserve upper and lower hoses pati na rin clamps and WD40, para makasiguro. Di naman ganun kabigat ito sa trunk.

Power steering fluid bihira magbawas unless, may tagas sa power steering hose or pump. Kung madalas ka mag maniobra ng sasakyan at umiinit ang PS oil.

    Zero,

    ayun kay HAYNES:

check for chafed area that could fail permanenetly

check for a soft area indicating hose has deteriorated

check each hose swelling and oil soaked ends
(cracks and breaks can be located by squeezing hose)

Reagardless of condition renew hoses every 2 years

Paxerox mo na lang manual. Dati dinala ko sa Cebu yung manual ko para matignan ni marwen.

I don't think I'd be going to Gen San anytime soon, though.

thanks for the offer OTEp, maybe if i find myself in manila.

i just don't understand how people lose their manual. i always return mine to my glove compartment.

when i sold my f150 with 82,000 kms on it, completo lahat ng papeles and gamit.
