My father-in-law had his L300 FB (Mitsu 4D56) valve clearance adjusted from 0.11mm to 0.15mm. He claims it made the engine run less noisy than before. Are there any unwanted side-effects?

hmmm...parang baliktad ata... ang alam ko, iingay makina mo kung naluwagan yung valve clearance... at least that's my experience with a gasoline engine. baka iba sa diesel?
AFAIK, one should follow the recommended valve clearances for the engin from the manufacturer.
baliktad nga, iingay ang valve pag malaki na valve clearance. baka .15mm to .11mm?
pag masyado malaki ang valve clearance magkakaron ng hammering effect yung rocker arm sa valve stem, magmu-mushroom yun masisira. faster din ang wear on valve, rocker arm and cam.
what if kung baligtad naman... napa higpit yun adjustment.. what will happen? pwde bang masira yun engine?
Too much may cause loose compression - "tutukod" yung valve stem and hindi na ito magsasara ng tama.Originally Posted by greenlyt
