mga bro paano malaman kung gumagana ang Turbo o hindi?

mga brod tanong ko lang.. i have a townace(subic) 2C diesel turbo engine, pano ko ba malaman kung gumagana ang turbo o hindi? thanks in advance..

ganito yan, malalaman mo ang difference pag sumipa ang turbo. basta, tapak mo yung accelerator, then normally, at 2000 rpm sisipa na dapat yun, ramdam mo yun kasi parang bumibilis e.

tama si sir ian_rex, you should feel the turbo thrust when you step on the gas. you should also hear a high pitched whine pag nag-spool yung turbo. pero to make sure, buy a turbo boost gauge.

pag sumipa ba siya yun tipong mapapasandal ka sa seats kahit bahagya lang? ... ako din hindi ko alam kung gumagana pa turbo ng strada ko. basta best way to check is kapag 2000rpm?

in my own terms, i call it the "surge effect".

or what you could do is try to find an air pressure gauge and hook it up to one of the hoses that goes to the wastegate actuator, rev the engine and see if the gauge needle moves.

sir san ko makita yung wastegate actuator?? dati kasi meron ako naririnig parang whistle sa turbo, ngayon parang nawala..

sa pajero 2.8, this is the wastegate, encircled in yellow (took off the tubing na from air intake and one going to the intercooler)

if you look at the pic, there is a black tubing as well that sort of forms a "J-shape" and it goes to the actuator, you can try to tap the boost gauge or air pressure gauge there.

but, what if wala sya pressure? it means na sira ba yung turbo mismo?

check mo bro if the blades would spin freely and with a very minimum of side-to-side play.

of course, do that while the engine is off :D

personal observation ko is that sa akin, at 2000rpm, dun pa lang magsisimula gumalaw needle ng boost gauge, assuming that i'm on a level road.

yup, talagang sisipa...pag may tach meter ka pansinin mo biglang bilis ng akyat sa 2000up mark...lite ace sa aking 2c-te makina ko, kaya lang i cant do it in idel, electronic kasi, sadyang digagana ung turbo, unless moving ung van ko...
