After months of contemplating, I finally went ahead and removed the side steps on my Pajero.

The change in looks was really very dramatic. Para akong nagpa-2-inch lift! I never really used the steps. They just made my white pants dirty when I try to step out in a crowded parking lot.

Now, I'm contemplating on taking out my rear step and my mudguards. Comments would be greatly appreciated.

I consider my stepboards as protection of my running boards. The last time I went over a center island the stepboard act as a shield of my running boards. The mudguards are there not for the mud but more for the stones that could ruin my body paint. If you clean your car once a week, be ready to to do it more often as mud and water would surely splash, even reach your windows. 8)

Guys this is what a Pajero without a stepboard looks like

    http://www.pbase.com/image/4392717 :D

Sir O:: Congrats!!! wag mo nang tanggalin yung mudguards. They dont affect approach and departure angles. But of course circumstances may arise na pwedeng sumabit tong mga to. IMHO, mas japorms walang stepboards. But  sasabihin ng chiks mo.... "NAKAKA WALANG POISE PAJERO MO OTEP"   If you want to do this for keeps, palagay ka ng assist grips sa A pillar. I'll show you when we meet :D Grabe! limang tulog na lang PAMPANGA NA!!!!

afrasay:: i was contemplating the same thing. when we went o-roading in the fort, a 2 ft boulder got stuck under my Paje. Without the stepboards, malamang warat na running boards ko.

Kim:: Iba po yung stepboard sa running board :D Yung stepboard yung inaapakan para makaakyat ang mga 'vertically challenged' sa matataas na auto :D Running board is what you call the plastic part running the length of the 2 doors :D

    ......decisions decisions

Update ko lang po: Tinanggal ko na yung stepboards, inalis ko na rin yung apat na mudguards at yung rear center step. Hayop sa porma. Hehehe.

    afrasay,

Sa GEN II, yung running boards ang lowest point ng body, eh. Without it, yung much stronger chassis crossmember na ang unang tatama sa obstacle.

Mud and water does splash kahit nung may mudguards pa. Umaabot nga ng windshield, eh. Of course, I was hitting the puddles at more than 60 kph for that "WRC effect."

    Visitor,

I am now working on getting designs and finding someone who will manufacture 'rock skis' for my GEN II. May thread ako dito sa forum entitled 'Rocker Panel Protection.' Baka po may maitulong kayo.

    kimpOy, pajerokid,

    NEXT PROJECT: Rock skis...

useful ba yung stepboards ng gen2 paj? yung sa iba kasi la naman kwenta yung stepboards... sagabal lang and pampadumi ng pantalon. para bang sobrang narrow hirap naman tumapak, pero extends far enough from the body to make alighting from the vehicle harder :?

    CaRGirL,

Ganda ng avatar, ha. Halatang-halata kung saan ang home base mo.

    mbt,

I don't really find my steps useful. It really gets my pant legs dirty. Nakakainis.

Yung sidesteps ng Expedition useful but it extend out far too much and the ground clearance is really compromised.

Yung sidesteps ng LC II naman sobrang taas! Hehehe.
