minamadali yung reservation fee kasi december, naghahabol ng quota. malamang sinasabon na yung agent mo ng boss nya at nanganganib na ang 4th quarter bonus nya. bitinin mo, ask ka ng additional discount at freeebies. december is one of the best months to buy a car due to those sales agents hurrying to fill their quotas.

Mga bossing, paadvice ako sa inyo. I am planning to buy a 2nd hand car. Dalawa ang kinocompare ko sa ngayon: a honda city 2002 model with 147k mileage (*182k php) and a Hyundai Getz 1.1 2010 model with 36k mileage (*230k php). Which one po ang pinaka magandang pick.

    I'm weighing between:
    - power
    - fuel efficiency
    - maintenance costs
    - reliability in long distance travel
    - and quality

Last July 6 nagapply ako for autoloan then after ko maipasa lahat ng needed documents hinintay ko nalang yung tawag ni Bangko (BPI). July 12 tumawag ako to make a follow up kasi parang unusual naman na sobrang tagal nila mag approve then sabi skn denied daw dahil nag check daw sila sa area namin wala daw parking pero credit/salary wise wala daw problema. Napakaunusual lang dahil wala namang tumawag sa akin to conduct inspection or magtanong man lang kung may parking ako. Yung area kasi namin since masikip nagpagawa ako ng garahe inside our house pero tingin ko yung nag inspect eh inassume nya na sa labas ang parking. Good thing naman nag apply for reconsideration yung kausap ko sa BPI branch. This time address ng wife ko sa ginamit namin (we have paid parking sa place na yon). I also sent pictures of my parkig space for both of my addresses para mas mapabilis. Unfortunately until now wala padin akong approval.

    Thank you mga bro

    Good day.

Kapag ang ibig nyo pong sabihin sa "nacontact na lahat ng hotline" is umabot kana po sa credit and loan division ng BPI, pero wala pa ring approval, you can wait until you receive certain notices ks yun po ang pinaka ebidensya na na approved ka or hindi. (you need to continue making follow ups). Discretion po ks ng bank whether to approve your application or not. You can be denied even without reason at all. However, you have all the right also to look for another bank.. I hope this helps

    5w30
    10w30
    15w40 and
    20w50

Paid cash only twice on a 2nd gen crv and 1.5 city, if you can get good deal through financing like 16% in 4 years with free chattel and insurance..its a good deal already..there are dealers that have promos like 50% down, 0% interest on the balance...look for those

... aside from being quite rare, this promo is normally only offered for slow selling/possible discontinuance/old model units.

What's your take on taking off thermostats?

My car is from Japan and it has a thermostat (not sure if cars sold in the Philippines also have thermostats). It sometimes overheats and I'm thinking it's because the water does not circulate. I say this because I check the radiator and reservoir everyday and sometimes the amount of water in the reservoir does not decrease. It should decrease because the radiator cap is broken so water leaks from there (haven't had the chance to find a good replacement yet). That is why I check everyday. I pour distilled water in the radiator and reservoir every morning.

The mechanic suggested to take it off since we don't need it in our climate. A lot of mechanics suggest that here in the PH.

After the mechanic took off the thermostat, my car's engine temp is at the 0-20% when I start the car. The other night, I drove it for a couple of minutes and the temp did not go up because of the wind and also the fan was on.

I read in some articles that it can actually hurt your car and the fuel efficiency if the engine is cold.

What do you guys think? Should I just leave the thermostat taken out?

    TIA!!

    thermostats in cars:
    1. enable the car to reach optimum working temperature faster. engines consume more fuel when they are cold.
    2. helps conserve fuel; and
    3. help decrease air pollution.

the engine temp does not go up fast, when the thermostat is removed. the radiator is cooling the water that is circulating into it from the engine block. normally, the thermostat blocks cold water in the engine block from going to the radiator, where it is cooled and prevented from heating up the engine block. this is the mechanism how thermostats enable engine blocks to reach optimum working temperature, faster.

    is your car locally sourced?
if it is grey market, perhaps its thermostat is not the right one for our climate.

another possibility for your seeming overheat problem, is that your thermostat is defective and needs replacement.

perished radiator cap? replace it, po! magkano lang banaman yan...
trouble-shooting will be easier, with one less problem to consider.

    good luck.

    Another erroneous myth.
The boiling point of water in Canada is the same boiling point in Manila. It all depends on the altitude and barometric pressure. Whatever happened to what we learned in high school? Did all the basic lessons learned change or disappear?
