Here is the difference.
Technically the e-jeepney should be able to climb higher angles than 12 degrees incline but the vehicle should be unloaded of it's passengers to do it. So in that sense, the e-jeepney fails to accomplish it's primary purpose of transporting passengers if it has to unload some or all passengers every time it meets an incline of 12 degrees or more.
The solution for this problem would have been simple. Add a transmission so to give the existing motor more torque for steeper streets. But of course it would increase the costs of an already over-hyped and hard-to-sell re-purposed extended golf-cart.

March 26th, 2010 12:57 AM #683funny. You criticize the press but its all the resource that you depend upon. You don't even bother to investigate the actual units in Makati.
The units can take a lot more than 20% inclines my dear ghosthunter.
Your credibility is seriously in question here. You make a lot of accusations yet you depend on 2nd hand or even 3rd hand data. For shame GH.
[SIZE=3]A little math... converting 20% = 11.3 degrees of incline.
So the e-jeepney can only climb slopes of less than 12 degrees.
The only reason why the e-jeepney can be used in Makati is because the routes are nearly completely flat and level.

philippine market:
no. of auto lpg vs no. of electric cars(ejeepney)
ilan na nga ba? anu nga ba ang mas napapakinabangan? which is more profitable or self sustaining? can someone provide some digits?
magandang tanong to ah.
but, does population declares more success regarding public transport for both the auto-lpg and ejeepney? how about the private sector?

The published specifications seems to contradict your statement.

LOL! ... Taken from your own photobucket account, no less.

o may mga computations ka pa. Are you pretending that you even know what you are talking about?
I have yet to see you post numbers and figures to counter the numbers I have posted.
Have you even riden an actual electric vehicel?
Does electric golf carts count? Like the ones used in Cubao and SM MOA?
Although for some reason SM have later replaced the electric "trams" to ones which are powered by an internal combustion engine. I guess "Henry Sy" of SM knows that electric powered golf carts aren't practical as public transport.
You sound like a nerd whose all theory and no practice.
FYI, your insults are falling a little short. LOL!Last edited by ghosthunter; March 26th, 2010 at 02:14 AM.

Among Tsikot.com members alone, there are over 60 Auto-LPG users/vehicles listed in the "Auto-LPG Roll-call" thread.

From my latest info I got, there are less than 20 e-jeeps in the Makati route and Makati plans to field a maximum of 50 units (if makati planning pushes through).Last edited by ghosthunter; March 26th, 2010 at 02:25 AM.
