Kasi pag ganyan viscocity na eh sa synthetic lang meron....

monograde ang oil niya. bale, straight 40 weight oil. So malamig man o mainit, 40 weight oil pa din. This type of oil is usually used for diesel engines.

In greneral, multi-grade oils are preffered over mono grade oils. Almost all modern vehicles recommend use of multi-grade oils.

meron sa 76 brand 15w-40, 10w-40, 10w-30 all multi grades and affordable naman yung price mga around 175 per us quart/ almost a liter ... cheaper than your basic synthetic .... which i sell of course

yung castrol meron din 10-40 pero i think its semi synthetic na rin 250 a bottle ... magnatec i think the name

    Mga bossing,

If a car is already more than 10 years old, would it still be advisable to use say 10w40, or 15w40? This oil is recommended per my owner's manual, and per Hayes workshop manual. Sabi naman ng mekaniko dito 20w50 daw para mas malapot. Scheduled for oil change and tune up na naman kasi ako this coming december. As always your advises are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, ang "w" sa multigrade oil tulad ng 15w-40, stands for "winter", e wala naman tayong winter sa pilipinas di ba?

so bakit hindi na lang monograde oil ang gamitin natin?

    just my 2cents po.....

with regards sa DELO oil from caltex, nakalagay nga sa label nya sa harap na Diesel Engine Oil ito, pero kapag tiningnan mo yung label sa likod, nakalagay don na pwede rin sya for gasoline engines. although hindi ko pa ito nagagamit pero plano ko itong gamitin for my next change oil...

IMO, as long as your engine does not burn or leak oil, use 10w40 or 15w40.

Most engine wear occurs when the engine is cold. Mltigrade oils flow faster when cold compared to monograde oils. So when you start a cold engine, the use of multigrade oils protects the engine better. This gives protection from cold to warm temps. Also multigrade oils tend to have better protection than monograde oils.

Delo is a diesel engine oil that can also be used for gas engines. I think the idea is to allow fleet managers to keep just 1 oil.

Eh yung number sa dulo na 30 or 40 ano naman purpose nun?

Ang important ba yung yung number na may w? I mean regardless kung 10w30 or 10w40 eh ok lng ? Sa w nagkakatalo?

So ano yung generic viscocity dito sa weather ng pinas? 15w40 or 10w40? 10w30?

multigrade will have better flow characteristics when cold vs monograde oils. although you never really get to use the full effect of the 1st number coz di tayo nagwiwinter dito, it still is better.

thinner oil will help you conserve on fuel vs a 50 viscosity oil.

diesel oils generally have good cleaning properties. delo is the most popular among racers particularly.

Delo Gold sold here is SJ oil and can be used for petrol cars where this grade is recommended. I think 1998 cars and below although this oil has better additive package than the recent SM oils which is formulated considering environmental concerns (EPA).

Lahat ba ng mineral oil 20w50 ang viscocity?
