annoying sound: water pump or tension bearing or what???

kakaayos lang ng crankshaft pulley bolt. but even before this, meron nang annoying sound (parang kumukulo type of sound) na dinig sa driver side kung nasa loob ka ng car or dun sa side ng power steering pump/timing belt pag sa engine bay ko papakinggan.

pinalitan na ng mekaniko yung tension bearing (sa timing belt) just 2 weeks ago pero andun pa din ang sound at lalo pa siya lumakas.

any idea kung san galing yung sound? iniisip ko kasi is baka naman sa waterpump??? possible kaya na sa crankshaft pulley siya?? wag naman sana....

you can tell if the pulley is busted if it wiggles. if it does then this is probably causing the noise. it's easy enough to tell naman. just keep taking out belts one by one till the noise diasappears. once you've pinpointed the problem, fix it

sakin nga eh parang ufo yung sound. napansin ko lng pag ka change ng belts.

try checking idler pulley bearing and a/c compressor bearing ... these were the items i replaced on my esi

a handy plastic tubing is useful for troubleshooting such noise ... you can locate the offending bearing with precision

suspetsa ko din pulleys pero wag naman yung sa crankshaft at mejo mahal siya. magkano kaya yung surplus nun???

yung sa compressor, pag sira ba yung bearing sisingaw ang freon??? kasi although nagpalagay ako ng freon some 5 days ago, ndi naman siya ubos talaga. mejo mahina lang lumamig kaya ako nagpalagay. so possible na ndi yung compressor bearing ang busted.

san yung idler pulley???

hindi pa sisingaw ang freon kung noisy lang yung compressor bearing ... but you have to replace the bearing asap before it disintegrates and damage the whole compressor ... if the bearing is available at hand, replacement procedure would only last a couple hours ... ibababa kasi ang compressor and of course freon/oil refill din ... mang mario is your best friend for this service

idler pulley is the one used to adjust tension for the aircon belt ... just look where the aircon belt runs ... you can see the adjusting bolt at the top of the idler assembly ... madali lang palitan ang bearing nito ... pwede diy

in my case, the compressor bearing was replaced after 10 years (160,000km), the idler bearing was replaced twice during same period ... note that if the belt tension is adjusted correctly, the bearings and the belt will last a long time

mr afrasay, automatic transmission po yung kotse. sorry, i did not mention sa previous post.

nway, salamat sa mga advice. ang plano ko is to check isa isa yung mga possible sources of the sound. maybe i can do this by loosening the belts then checking the moving parts one by one. ok lang ba ito lalo na kung start ko din yun engine (for a short period of time lang naman)???

dun pala sa compressor, andun pa din ang tunog kahit ndi naka on ang aircon. so possible ba na sa compressor bearing pa din ang problema??? dito ako prvince kaya baka malabo si mang mario unless sadyain ko siya.

Sakin may humming sound PEro mawawala kpag na tapakan ko ng gas pedal.. parang ang baba lng ng MInor i think.. what do u think afrasay?

Yun pinaayos ko yun aircon ko, yun compressor oil seal yun sira and nung bago ko pa pinaayos meron sound na parang ungol tapos mawawala then minsan meron ulit. Nuubusan din ako ng freon nun e so baka pareho yun problema natin.

the mechanic said its the steering pump. tingnan ko muna mabuti kasi baka ndi naman yun ang problema. doble doble na naman gastos.

repairable ba steering pump??? kung meron lang naman tunog, gaano katagal pa ito magagamit???

madali ba makahanap ng overhauling kit for steering pump ng esi??? might suggest that to the mekaniko na lang. tnx!!!

overhauling pump is easy to get but sana marunong sya magkabit or else useless yung overhaul

to check whether it's the ps pump that's making the noise, just remove the ps belt. kung mawala yung noise then alam mo na what the problem is. kung andun parin then mali diagnosis nya.

hayyy...buhay.... kakaiinis yung talyer....sabi last week meron daw madadala yung ahente nila na overhauling kit kaya ndi na ako lumuwas ng wed.....ngayon sabi nung ahente ng parts eh wala daw siya makuhanan....buti na lang may lumuwas for us para maghanap ng overhauling kit....sabi naman nung isang nag post madali lang mahanap yung for esi...sana....

magkano po ba ito usually??? baka sa pasay maghanap ng kit eh. dito kasi kami sa probinsya.....

this time talagang sisiguraduhin ko na wala na yung tunog na yun. tnx!!!

have him go to honda. meron dun for sure. nasa 1200 ata or somewhere there yung orig na overhauling kit. plus labor plus psf.

well finally nakabili na somewhere in pasay. 1750 yung kit....nway, ayusin na today then kunin memya hapon....checked on the steering box and wala naman daw leak....tnx sa advice.....hopefully matagal ito bago bumigay...

yung repair kit pa lang yun. labor is Php500. the problem is meron naman naugong kanina although mukang ndi na yun sa steering pump kasi iba na yung tunog. will observe muna before bringing it back to the mechanic kasi kahapon totally normal ang tunog.

my next problem is the check engine light. pinalitan kasi din yung oil seal sa distributor then after maayos yung steering pump and yung oil seal nag iilaw na yung check engine after a few minutes. sabi sa mga sensors daw. will try to search for some answers dito sa forum.
