i've got overheating problem...honda center diagnosis is i need to replace my thermo switch and radiator overhaul.
    their costing is

    thermo switch - 25oo
    installation - 500

any more economical idea on where to find a thermo switch?
is this related to the thermostat?
where can i buy this part?

    thanks!

i have a 95 honda civic esi model..

Lately puro ESi mga topic dito. Hehe, dunno y. Anyway, bili ka nalnag bagong rad - evercool + thermo mga 1k OEM/replacement or kahit nga wala na. Bagong rad may warranty 6 mos. while overhaul wala or 1 mo lang ata.

Btw, un bang stock rad ng ESi 2-row?

you can buy replacement thermoswitch at less than 1k. and evercool radiator at less than 4k.

they're related in a way coz the thermostat helps warm up the engine while the thermoswitch turns on the rad fan to cool down and maintain optimum operating temp.

Mazerom, since I noticed from your previous posts na overheating talaga problem mo, I suggest dalin mo na lang sa non-casa shops like Speedyfix sa Santolan to diagnose all your problems. Kung casa kase talaga taga ka sa presyo. They can check your entire cooling system and let you know kung ano and magkano ung mga dapat palitan. For sure their prices are lower than casa's.

i don't think you can run very far without a thermoswitch. yun ang nag-aactivate ng fan eh. without a thermostat pede pa.

evercool jolly good value, good reviews pa. thermoswitch? nagpalit nako nyan, sa casa ko pinagawa, pero afaik parang nasa 1500 lang yun. honda fairview.

    civic esi model..
You can try HRC in Banawe (near corner Kitanlad). Ask for a sample, or part # from Honda, so you get to canvass for the right thermo switch.

my normal rule of thumb is that if you don't know where the part is, it might be a better idea not to diy it.
