HELP! Air Intake for my GSR?

guys and gals what do you think? ano basically ginagawa ng air intake? dami ko kasi nakikita na may ganun eh. advantages and disadvantages?

how much would it cost me if i want one to be installed?

Di ba lahat ng kotse may air intake? maybe ur referring to a simota or K&N air filter, performance filter yata tawag sa mga ganyan. mas maganda yata magiging oerformance ng engine mo kapag ganyan ang intake mo tsaka dagdag porma rin :D

Negligible ang performance gain. Sayang on the stock SOHC 4G92. Naglagay na rin ako ng Simota sa GSR at Sebring na exhaust. Maganda lang ang tunog pero pareho rin halos ang takbo. Maganda lang din tingnan.

SIMOTA na CAI system? oh ok.. so hindi ganun ka ramdam yung improvement?

2-3hp gain if it's just a filter head, and that's K&N or HKS, maybe 2hp or less for a Simota. That gain is also dependent on temperature... in hot weather, traffic or after a long drive, hp losses start to creep in. Needless to say, heat shielding is a necessity. A CAI may give you 5 or more hp, but pose the danger of hydrolock in wet weather and requires a bypass valve to avoid this.

Oh yeah, no hp loss due to heat with a CAI... it's this heat soak that kills most of the hp gain of simple in-bay performance filter installs.

yep. significantly more expensive though. ~80t ang cost. pero the effects are rather more profound than an aftermarket air intake. at least 30% increase in power guaranteed.

Walang CAI na Simota. Yung sinasabi ni wildthing filter and tube lang. Hydrolock occurs when you run through water at speed and the CAI ingests it. If it's little water, the engine can burn it... if it's a lot, it will damage the engine. That's why most CAIs have a bypass valve.

ah.. retain pa din yung yung air intake system ko right? ang maiiba lang is yung papalitan yung air filter na OEM and yung tubing? tama po ba?

may mararamdaman ba ako na difference when I change my filter to simota?
san ba nakakabili ng mga racing filters for my car like simota's, k&n etc..

Yep, air filter lang ang Simota. Air Intake kasi ang tanong mo. At yung Sebring exhaust minana ko lang yun sa isang kotse namin, ewan ko kung magkano. Hindi sya maingay at low revs. Parang low grumble lang. Hanapin mo yung mga JASMA spec ganon daw ang tunog.

Pero for performance, engine swap na yan to MIVEC 4G92.

Ano naman tawag dun sa pag papalit ng air filters from oem to racing filters?

aesthtically and performance talaga ang hanap ko eh.. budget does'nt matter, (yung tama lang ah) as long as ang gain is worth the money i'll spend.
