gaano kataas ang temp gauge nyo?

hello po! this is my first post and my question na agad ako

just want to ask gaano po ba kataas normally ang temperature gauge? yung sa kin po kc, usually hanggang half to barely over half. tska napansin ko lately, wala pang 5 min ang ride ko e parang ang bilis umakyat ng temp. normal po ba ito?

btw, my ride is corolla gli 94.

Yes, mabilis siya umakyat sa una kasi sarado pa ang thermostat. It's just a way to let the engine go up to operating them (where emissions and fuel economy are at their best) in the shortest time possible. After the desired temperature is reached, the thermostat automatically opens to let coolant flow.

normally dapat a little less than the half mark up to the half mark.

when was the last time that you changed/drained the coolant in your cooling system? baka naman sobrang tagal na at wala ng bisa ang cooling properties ng coolant.

sir otep, pardon my ignorance pero san po ba makikita ang thermostat?

nagpalagay ako ng coolant about 3 weeks ago. kaso hindi ko nakita pano ni-drain ng mechanic yung radiator

i've read something about lavramon in another thread. ok ba 'to? i'm thinking kc of reflushing the radiator to be sure na tama yung procedure na gagawin and to remove all the rust and dirt. how much does it cost? and do u know where exactly in E. rodriguez is the Mancor Caltex service station?

meron din po ba kayong ma-suggest na shops na magaling mag-check up ng cooling system? hindi ata kc expert dito yung mechanic ko e. i wanna make sure na rin na ok yung buong cooling system.

kalahati din eksakto.
tingin ko normal lang yan. 5 minutes to go through its optimal operating temperature. kung may problem yan, medyo tataas pa yan beyond the half gauge which you normally experience.

For a Corolla GLi the normal temp is slightly below 1/2... Pag umaandar na derederecho (highway) it can drop to around 1/3 due to the wind hitting the radiator/condenser.

The temp should gradually increase during cold start, the thermostat will bring the car to it's optimal temp very soon if you drive the car immediately after starting.

yng ride ko almost half ng temp gauge pero stick na sya dun khit pa nsa highway ako bumababa lng yun pagnahinto na sya ng matagal.

ok lng bang patakbuhin na yung car khit nde pa nya nararating yung right temp lalo na sa umaga? i wait 1-2 min pero dpa tumataas yng temp kya ride ko na sya, mya-mya ska lng nagiging almost half-way sa temp gauge.

guys is the thermostat the metal sort-of-coil thing? is it safe to just remove that, someone mentioned before that it's better to remove it?!?

yung honda city ko parang 1/4 lang ata. minsan tumataas..pero hindi umaabot sa kalahati. yun naman carnival namin almost half..talaga bang mas mainit ang temperature pag diesel??

Mas mainit po talaga ang diesel engines, diesel fuels are burned by high compression and heat. Not like gas engines which has spark plugs and lower compression ratio.

butchokuy, based on what i read sa toyota manual ko, ok lang patakbuhin yung car after around 10 secs. after starting the engine. basta low rpm lang muna habang nagwa-warm up pa lang ang engine. (mga bossing, correct me na lang kung mali pagkaintindi ko :D)

xox, i think i read in another thread (just can't find it) that the thermostat shouldn't be removed.

d ko pa napa-reflush radiator ko. closed kc yung Mancor Caltex last Wednesday, nung holiday. i'm planning to bring my car again this weekend. sana ok service nila.

hboy, ok yung temp gauge mo ah. yan ba ang orig na gauge ng car mo? what's ur car model?

Miss ko na nga yung temp gauge na may number. Pati oil pressure may numbers din. hehehehe.

Tumaas lang yung temp ko going up Hi-Peak. Pero extreme angles naman na yun. Halos nakaharap na sa langit yung sasakyan sa steepness ng mga trails.

nakakapraning lang minsan kasi napakadynamic ng gauges ng MB.. compared sa mga Jap cars na medyo phantom gauges ang dating.... kung baga... basta nasa gitna at nde gumagalaw.. ok pa (kahit anong temp pa yan).. when it rises.. then that's more or less you'll know when you have a problem.
sa highpeak.. talgang tataas ang temp mo pag ganyan.. kahit anogn sasakyan ata pag ginawa mo yan eh siguradong tataas ang temp eh.. ehehhe
