What should i expect when my Mileage hits the 70k-80k Mark?

Hi guys,

I need some professional help on this, I have bought a 2nd Honda City Exi last Feb and have seen no damages exterior, interior and engine. until today it works fine, walang tagas, leak or etc.. ang napncn ko lng is may Kalog xa, pinatgnan ko sa Rapide, and ang result is Loose daw ung mga bushings at may problem sa tie rod and ball joint, currently im on the status of repairing these problems (is this a Minor or a major problem), nothings else was decribed to me by the Mechanic from rapide, nammaintain ko ung ext at int ng car, pero problem is, I have no knowledge on maintaining an engine...
so what should I expect? para atleast dumating man ang worst-case-scenario, Im ready for it...

btw, mga magkanu kaya estimate na repairs dun sa sinabe ko na problems sa car ko? sabi kc nila, kesa na i-parepair mo, palitan mo na lng ng bago, kahit kc 2nd hand at 10 years na ung na ung car, i would like to maintain it as though it was new.. Also, im on the 72T mark on the car's Mileage..

Rapide will almost always say that there are parts that need to be replaced.

Don't go there for repair jobs. Search the forums on how lousy Rapide is.

Get a second opinion, baka mga busted na bushing lang yan.

most probably your car already has damaged bushings, but DO NOT GO TO RAPIDE. there are lots of shops around which can fix that. Among of which is Zee or Cruven.

at 70-80k kms, the others to expect are:

a) busted shocks
b) worn out engine supports
c) replace timing belt, water pump, tensioner bearing
d) worn out tires
e) aircon-related repairs like evaporator, coil cleaning, condenser.

item a, can also be done at Cruven/Zee which is around 70% cheaper than buying new shocks. But if you prefer OEM and brand new shocks, there are shops around that carry the brand KYB.

engine supports can also be done at Cruven/Zee, but there are shops also that can do that for you. If you use OEM its a the cost is a little bit more higher than using replacements, but you can be assured that it will go for a long time.

item c, its a must. use OEM parts if you can. isabay mo na din ang pagpalit ng engine supports while on this.

At 80, that's a major service interval so you timing belt, tensionsers/bearings, water pump, all fluids (gear, coolant, brake,etc) and filters will be needing replacement. plus adjustment of valve tappets, etc.

as aforementioned, be wary with Rapide... you may as well go the CASA instead.

I suggest Speedyfix if you are near Shaw Blvd area. Experts sila sa Honda.

80,000 kms is a major service interval.
Change oil and filter
Replace gear oil, brake fluid, coolant, power steering fluid, clutch fluid etc...
Check brake pads and drum/replace if needed.
Check cooling system and correct problems if any.
Check clutch and brake system.
Replace fuel filter and air filter
Adjust valve clearance
Replace timing belt, water pump etc...
If its an AT replace ATF and filter

wala naman akong balak magpagawa sa Rapide, nag check up lng ako pra atleast know ko ung status ng car, pero tell me honestly for a 10 yr old car na ang problem lng is may "KALOG", loose Bushings? at medyo may tama ung Tierod at balljoint? Ok pa rin ba ung car ko? no problem sa Aircon (medyo mahina na ang lamig, sa preon lng daw toh sabi ng tito ko)

Status ng car ko ngaun is:
-New set of tires (Ok rin sna kung mapalitan ko na rin ung Mags, bka kc oblong na)
-kakaOil change pa lng nya last first weeks of august i think
-di ko pa nareplace air filter, pero medyo malinis pa xa maalikabok lng
-naTune up na rin xa kasbay ng Oil Change.
-Balak ko ipaDrain ung Raidator at kung anu pang part na naiipunan ng water (pede rin ba ung Gas Tank?)
-bka magpalit na rin ako ng shocks (pg ngpainstall ako ng Lowering Spring, un din ba ung shocks ko?)

* Pero Ok lng na mgpalit na ako ng parts kahit b4 mg 80k noh? (parts: Timing belt, P.steering oil, brake fluid, etc...)

-Anu ulet ung shop na nabanggit Cruven/Zee? name ba ng shop yan? or magkaiba yan? san location nyan? any contact Numbers?
-kaya ko pntahan speedyFix mlpit lng ako eh, san ba location nun exaclty?

Cruven and Zee are different shops. Zee is somewhere in Aurora Blvd yata. Cruven has a branch near Crame. http://cruven.tripod.com/

Yes ok lang change parts before 80Kms. Change a few parts before 80 then the rest at 80 para di sabay gastos.

yung radiator draining, pwede naman na ikaw na lang yun. tapos, put in a 1:1 mixture ng coolant and distilled water. but since, pupunta ka na rin ata sa speedyfix, sila na lang patirahin mo.

pag nagpainstall ka ng lowering spring, dapat gas shocks ang gamit mo para di ganung kalambot. and take note na mas matibay ang gas shocks kesa fluids. you can get new ones or you can have them converted nga kay Cruven o kay Zee. kung brand new ones ang kukunin mo, dun mo na rin ipakabit kay speedyfix para isang ayusan na lang.

Medyo related ang query ko sa topic ng thread. my 02 honda city is approaching d 60k mileage. i bought it last august and so far change oil and tune pa lang ang napagawa ko. maayos nman performance ng car ko. ask ko lang kayo guys kung me parts ba na dapat mapa check. medyo konti lang kc alam ko sa mga kotse eh.

pwede naman hnd palitan lahat,.need to check first the unit,lalo na mahal parts ngayn,marami papalitan dyan if u follow the km check up,pwede yan by batch naman.former ako sa honda makati all positions nadaanan ko na dun 11yrs.stay sa casa,mahal talaga.here's my cel just incase u have questions reg.honda's preventive maintenance.

if your mileage reaches 70 -80 expect to change your timing belt tensioners ... kasi dito sa philippines ndi exacto yang mileage natin since daming traffic dito sa atin ...

kung wala ka naman naririnig na kalampag ... there is nothing to worry about ... basta prepare to change your timing belt kasi kahit gaano ka ingat sa car mo papalitan mo rin ito ...

your tires is one more thing to worry about since marami na tinakbo yang car mo

usually for 2nd hand cars ... advice is to change the timing belt kasi ndi mo alam kung ilan na talaga tinakbo yung car mo ...

60k should be a relatively minor pms naman if you performed everything nung 40k kms. pero if you do not know kung nagawa or are unsure then you may want to perform that pms which involves replacing all of the fluids and filters.
