hey people , i have two igniter assemblies for toyota , 1 has no resistor on it, and another , has the resistor installed. i bought the bosch red type na ignition coil to replace the surplus coil kasi sira na yun stock toyota coil. m y question is , it says duon sa label nung coil na " ... USE with a 1.8ohms resistor " un red bosch ignition coil. e ang nakalagay duon sa igniter e 1.2ohms . may masama bang effecto ito ? in the case nung blue ignition coil, pd ba ito ilagay duon sa igniter assembly na may resistor o duon sa wala ?

ang alam kong purpose nung resistor is to limit the electric current that's going to your spark plugs para di mabilis masunong yung spark plug tips. pag di mo ilalagay yung resistor or mas mababa yung resistance rating na ilalagay mo, meron tendency uminit yung ignition coil. pag malamig ang panahon, pwede tanggalin yung resistor para mas malakas ang current through the spark plugs = mas maganda sunog ng fuel. ewan lang kung anong epekto nya sa life nung spark plug or sa contact point mo. baka mabilis din masira? not sure... hth ;)
