Need help weird sound when accelerating ( TOYOTA VIOS 1.5G 2004 Model Automatic )

Guys need help

I'm hearing a weird sound when accelerating from 1st to 2nd gear (parang tansan na kumakalansing )

but doesnt happen ni rev ko tapos naka idle lang yung car (nuetral )
Only happens from 1st to 2nd gear or basta yung unang pag apak mo sa gas pero after nun mawawala na pag asa 30-50 kph kana or basta continues mo ng apak yung gas


Napa check kona sa mechaniko eh di rin nila alam yung problem best to describe it is parang tansan na kumakalansing rinig talaga sa loob kahit naka aircon or wala

sounds like engine knock. Have you changed your gasoline recently?

hindi naman sir same gas lang pinapakarga ko , ( Petron XCS as per the previous owner used before ) yung mekaniko ko lang nag lagay ng super unlead ata yun ng petron(P300) basta hindi XCS nahaluan niya ng ganong gas while almost fulltank pa yung car ko


WHat do i need para mafix to? is this dangerous para sa car? yung weird sound? salamat ng marami sir

your description, even your choice of words, is classic textbook for engine ping. agree with the ghost.
try using higher octane fuel and see if it disappears. the octane ratings of the various fuels are posted on the pump. use them as a guide.
alas, i'm not sure what gas your car is designed for..

your car is designed to use from 91- 97 octane gasoline ... if u use higher octane , let say 95 mas pino ang takbo at andar ng makina ... take note ung octane rating ng gas pag ngpapakarga ka, don't be confused on whatever names they call it ... and try at least 95 octane ....

Sir, since naka xcs ka na at nakahigh octane as what is recommended sa manual na 91.

First try mo low gear high rpm.

My SA once advise me na carbon deposits iyun from the catalytic converter. Baka sa driving style mi nagbuild up carbon dep sa catcin at may time na pinipurge niya palabas ng system.

Or better yet try to check the catcon.

Imho, xcs has a magnesium additive in replacement sa lead. The deal is same impact sila sa catcon ng lead. - please correct me if i am wrong just heard it in yhe news couple of months ago.

Try seaoil x97 din ng 2 to 3 FT. Then go back to unleaded and try other brands as well.

Ako iwas big three ako. I preffer firat: seaoil, 2nd total and phoenix. For high and regular octane fuels.

Ok i'll try Seaoil 97 once na nagpa FT ako ubusin ko muna yung laman ng tangke ko ..

Question: WIll it damage my engine if i go a higher octane? Since XCS na ginagamit ko and Seaoil has higher octane right? ( Sorry Newbie talaga ako )

imho, hindi siguro sa fuel octane yan, baka sa driving style mo.
i have a friend who has the same car as yours and he is using a 91 octane gasoline.
baka sobrang under revved ka kaya napwepwersa yung oto mo on shifting.
try mo mag put ng more revs... usually, pag AT, nag shishift yan pag 2.5k rpm to a lower gear.

OO nga Sir medyo di ako fan talaga ng high rev pag apak sa gas going to 2nd gear actually almost 1k to 1.5k rpm lang pang change ko to 2nd gear ganyan ako kahina umapak sa gas minsan below 1k revving pa, bad habit ba?


I'll take your advice I'll rev more higher atleast 1.5k to 2k rev and i will check if it occurs parin thanks sir will post the results asap

Sir maigi din na ipatay mo OD or shift at d3 hayaan mi lang mag 3k rpm ka uo to 3.5k rpm para lang di magkick in 4th gear kaya maghahigh rev ka sa 3rd gear.

I dont know that either hhahah sorry I 'd better go check the manual for this xD

I took all your advice and rev it to 1k to 2k rpm going to 2nd gear and so far hindi kona siya masyado naririnig its still there pero halos hindi na siya naririnig, so i guess kelangan ko nga talagang apakan ng mabuti yung gas pag nag rerev going to 2nd , so far the tansan clapping sound is very minimal na minsan di kona talaga marinig

Sir pa update po kung may engine pinging pa din? Have you tried higher octane rating gasoline?

Kahit kasi minimal yung sound di pa rin maganda sa engine yan. Dapat mawala na.
