singaw sa exhaust

nakakaapekto ba sa fuel consumption ko kng may singaw exhaust ko somewhere along that long pipe from headers hangang sa tip? thnx

yes, lalakas po ang consumption ng gaso. nakakaapekto din ito sa arangkada ng kotse. hihina po ito dahil sa butas ng exhaust pipings.

walang effect sa fuel consumption ang exhaust leaks BUT exhaust leaks can give off harmful carbon monoxide gases..........

matagal ko ng problem itong fuel consumption ko nag change engine na nga ako although there is a significant improvement in performance at di na mausok at nangangamoy gas malakas pa rin sya sa gas... i guess this is the culprit kasi eto nlng di ko napapalitan sa system at namention sa isang thread na may epek ang singaw sa exhaust. paano ko makikita singaw sa line? ano kaya maganda ko gawin dito/ pinapaayos ba ito? o pinapalitan ng buo how much kaya? thnx

pag may restriction (clogged) ang exhaust system lalaki ang fuel consumption kasi mahihirapan ang makina maglabas ng exhaust gases. pero kung singaw (as in maliliit na cracks or butas) lang walang effect sa fuel consumption. ano pong engine gamit ninyo???

mitsu 4G93 1.8L carb type... so paano ko idadaiagnose ito?

kung yung exhaust system mo na lang ang di mo napapalitan at sure ka naman na wala kang fuel leaks, my wild guess is that may restriction na ang exhaust system mo lalo na kung matagal na itong di nalilinisan. pwede mong ipalinis ang exhaust mo sa suking shops. pero kung walang restrictions sa exhaust system, check nyo po ulit baka may fuel leaks kayo. since kapapalit lang ng engine I presume po na naka-tune-up naman yung engine pero kung di pa na-tuneup engine, yun muna uunahin kong gawin :-)

gaano po kalaki yung konsumo nyo sa gas at gaano kalayo yung tinatakbo?

Actually, malaki ang epekto ng singaw, dependo kung ganuung kalapit siya sa engine... the closer, the worse. exhaust leaks introduce turbulence into the exhaust flow, which makes it sluggish... it also effectively drops the temperature of the exhaust, making it even more sluggish, and (in the case of leaks on the exhaust manifolds and headers) affecting combustion performance.

may effect ang singaw sa exhaust. you will experience loss of power together with more fuel consumption and added noise.

check mo yung fuel linings going to your engine. kung leak iyan dapat may tumutulo sa ilalim ng kotse. kung hindi man check mo yung linings mismo. pag mejo parang basa or madulas most likey iyon na yung culprit. What other suggestions do you tsikoteers have?

I'd change the entire exhaust system... kung 77 nga yung Galant, most likely 80% rust na siya. This will definitely improve exhaust and might improve fuel economy.

Also check your carb settings.
