    yup.. jsut remove the battery for a few minutes.

    ME ASKING LANG KASI DI KO ALAM.
    ANO BA PURPOSE PARA I-RESET AND ECU? PAG RESET BA BALIK BA YAN SA DEFAULT SETTING NIYA? ALSO, PARA QUE? NABABAGO BA ANG SETTING NG ECU AS YOU USE THE CAR? JUST LIKE TO KNOW.

    Kasi minsan iilaw yung check engine mo. Two reasons why you would want to reset your ECU. One is to clear a CHECK ENGINE light or error code after fixing the problem that caused the error. The other is to reset the spark advance trim value.

    Mine, I reset my ECU by plugging off the battery for 30 seconds then press the horn or the break pedal, and that's it.

    resetting ECU is sometimes needed when experiecing erratic idling and you calibrated your idling and air and gas mixture.

    ECU means Electronic Control Unit. by plugging off ur battery ang ecu mo mg rereset na yan. back to default setting.

    meron nakapag-sabi minsan sa akin na masama daw a lagig ni-re-reset ang ECU...

    kung may problem kasi na na-e-experience sa kotse, talagang i-re-report yan ng ECU mo thru the check engine facility...

    solution is, i-diagnose mo na lang yung ECU mo kung ano reason ng check engine. may mga steps to diagnose sa internet then may mga ECU diagnostic code list para sa reference kung ano yung reported error ng ECU.

    then yun na yung problem ng kotse mo, kaya dapat yung ang ipagawa para next time hinde na mag-light up ang check engine.

    q? the main battery of the vehicle?

    or there is a separate battery for the ECU...like a double A battery inside the computer box?

    no backup battery to remove or disconnect... just the one in the engine compartment.
