flooded cars - where are they now?

curious lang, it's been more than 6 years since ondoy and 3 years since habagat, yung mga owners ng sasakyan na nadali dito, kamusta na yung mga sasakyan niyo? nasa inyo pa ba? ano mga lumabas na problema?

Kaya katakot bumili ng mga second hand car, lahat nang binebenta sa olx 100% not flooded.

Yup, still with me and still running ok. So far hindi pa ako tinirik except when the battery went dead (buti na lang at me motolite delivery). Casa pala tumira post ondoy at nakita ko kung paano nila binaklas pa isa isa - parang tamiya. Buti na lang na restore at napatakbo ulet nila. Car was only more than a year old when Ondoy happened. Buti na lang at tight lahat nung engine seal kaya hindi pinasok iyong engine.

If the car has lasted 3 to 6 years without issues, it's safe to assume that it's been reasonably restored to near factory spec. Of course, there may still be rsidue of the flooding like watermarks or some surface rusting, these are relatively superficial and should not cause any major issues.

problem is, some unscrupulous bayan sellers do not take great pains... only enough as to make the car run in front of the victim-buyer... lookit the umandap thread somewhere here..

Simply put, if the seller denies the car being flooded when there are clear indications that it was, walk away. You'll know that the seller is not trustworthy. If the seller admits to it being flooded, the buyer can ask for a copy of the repair bill, which usually indicates what was done and which parts were replaced. Things to look for includes the replacement of the airbags and SRS controller. Knowing these facts can lower your risks of owning a problematic car.

Anyway, if the buyer is fully aware that he bought a flooded car, he should be prepared for anything in the future. But as I've said, if the flooded car has been running great and without issues in the past several years, it's safe to assume that the flooding didn't cause any permanent damage.

Ride is an ondoy victim. It was an 07 model and still runs great to this day. Never akong itinirik since. Since i got it 2013, ive driven it as far as pagudpud. Just got back from baler 2 weeks ago. Costs ran up to 70k (altis) to restore and so far so good. It was submerged for 3 days straight on side mirror level flood water.

Kausap 1 buy and sell na kakilala ko. Dapat daw maka declare kung flooded unit o hindi. Pwede idemanda seller kung napatunayan na flooded unit at hindi dineclare ng seller. At a minimum balik bayad daw nung buyer.
