Paano po ma-improve ang riding comfort ng isang old car like mine corolla XL 1992 big body. Ano mga factors na dapat i consider? may kinalaman ba ang mags (195/55 R15) and tire pressure (30 psi, too high?). tnx for all the replies.![]()

change shocks, springs and other suspension parts...okay lang yung 15" na mags...
put sound deadening materials sa floor at pinto ng katawan para less road noise and vibration...
dont forget lubrication...palit langis and other fluids on time para maganda takbo ng makina...
dont use loud mufflers...
well, first is what will you put first, comfort or "porma"/performance?Originally Posted by nim ra
If you want comfort first, you might want to consider changing your wheels from 15 inch mags to 14 inch and matching tires.
30 psi tire pressure is just right.
My priority is comfort. Nakuha ko po ng second hand ang kotse, so i guess my last option is to change my tire/mags. tnx for d reply sir ghosthunter.
sir chieffy, how much po kaya ang aabutin kung magpalit ako ng shocks front/back? ano po brand maganda (reliable/cost effective)? ano po iyong "other supension parts" wala akong alam sa parts ng kotse eh. tnx for d reply din.
go back to the stock 14 inch rims with 185/60/14 tires. this will definitely improve ride comfort. air pressure at 28 psi. sound barriers and a cold a/c are also a plus.
Reliable and price wise na shocks KYB(Fluid type)... More or less 2K each....
bilstien shocks. medyo mahal, pero sulit. don't expect to have a benz ride but it will definitely improve it.
kung papalit ba ng shocks e kelangan sabay ung 4, or pwede 2 at a time(front/rear)?
and is it ok to mix fluid and gas shocks, so long as ung pair of the same type is on the front/rear?
tagal ko na gusto palitan ung shocks..di malabas labas ung pera B)
yes... check the other suspension parts (such as bushings, cv joints, shock mounts, etc).
that will cost a bundle it needs to be replaced.
a slightly cheaper alternative to changing your alloy wheels & tires is simply to change the tires to a taller one. so if your tires are currently 55 series, a change to series 60 or even 65 will improve ride quality.Originally Posted by nim ra
i might be missing something here.. pero yun shocks ba e yun pinapalitan para maging lowered ang sasakyan? or something like that? kasi ive been thinking of changing my suspension and lowering it at the same time..
you change the springs to lower your suspension. but to give a better and firmer ride, you also pair your aftermarket lowering springs with aftermarket/performance shocks ;)
drive slow as in slow, jok lang as what i know change springs, the wheel also matter , the gauge of the wheel as well
Pagawa mo kay Zee, you'll save around 50-70% compared to changing parts :D
