April 4th, 2005 02:52 PM #1kala ko na post ko na to kanina pero pag check ko wala naman. anyway eto yung problema.
kakapalit ko lang ng valves. na grind and stuff, ok naman ang takbo (hatak and mejo tumahimik). wala naman inayos kundi yung cylinder head (valves) lang at palit timing belt. nung una ang problem ay taas-baba yung rpm.
after a while, ang naging sakit naman eh bigla na lang namamatayan pag bagong start. kelangan apakan yung gas for 5 mins para ndi mamatay.
then ngayon naman eh sobra taas ng rpm pag ka start pa lang. mga 1500 rpm kuna then aakyat sa 2000. pag andar eh ndi naman bumababa. nangyayari to pag aapakan ko muna accelerator bago start. minsan ndi siya nangyayari. so ang nangyayari eh adjust ako ng adjust. at isa pa, minsan eh kahit off na yung makina eh umaandar pa.
san ko kaya sisimulan ang pagpapa ayos nito???

have you tried having a tune-up? kasi baka dun pa lang baka na-adjust na yung idling nya.

AFAIK, sa idling yan at timing. Ganyan nanguri dun sa dating kong Stanza. I had my mechanic adjust the timing and the idling, okay na.

yung up and down ng rpm baka fuel line or fuel pump problems. baka may leak somewhere and it's sucking air. eratic ang fuel pressure kaya yung adjustment na ginawa mo baka mataas sya talaga then since mababa nga ang fuel pressure (air getting in the fuel lines) e yung high setting mo parang mababa pa din. tapos pag yung time na tama ang fuel pressure ayun shoot up ang rpm mo.
yun namang off na ang ignition pero umaandar pa din, may carbon ang plugs mo or valves kaya nag-dieseling. kahit wala na spark ang spark plugs since mainit yung carbon deposits aandar pa din yun.
hula lang yan ha, possible lang.

Try mo rin pa check ung hoses sa carb, baka nag ka bali-baliktad ang kabit. Check also the breather

April 4th, 2005 05:51 PM #7Baka need to overhaul/clean Carb/fuel line. Ganun yung Kia ko dati pag start dapat alalay sa Gas pag biglang tapak or bitaw namamatay.

Idling problems are quite a hassle to trace (it's also a common problem with EFI cars once they age). It's a process of elimination so the best is to start with the basics:
- Tune-up and check your timing and base idle settings... check also your air and fuel filters.
- Check for any loose hoses (vacuum leak)
- Check the spark plug wires for any signs of wear/tear.
- Have the throttle body opened and cleaned if it has not been done yet and the car is already fairly old/high mileage.
- Have the sensors checked.
My friend had a similar problem with his Corolla GLi, it was a defective sensor/assembly that was replaced (cost around 5K to 10K from Toyota)... I just can't recall what it's called. I'll see if i can ask him.

April 4th, 2005 09:14 PM #9ganyan din problema ng sasakyan ko ngayon, buti nga sayo timing belt lang sa akin timing chain, nung diagnose ng tao nila migs kailangan ko raw palitan yung buong kit ng timing chain, dahil inabot ng 60 yung timing biruin mo sobrang taas non. Napa tune-up ko na yun, change sparkplug, linis ng intake, check yung mga sensors ganon pa rin, nung binuksan lang don nila nakita na wala na sa pisition yung timing mark. Haayyyyy Gastos na naman...

April 5th, 2005 11:39 AM #10Ganyan rin problema ko ngayon... pero mukhang nakita ko na problema... "duling" kc idling ng kotse ko.. minsan 400 minsan 1500 minsan 1000 RPM. Naiistuck un gas pedal ng konti after pressing and depressing it.. kaya ayon minsan naiiwan sa 1500 idling ko... then gagawin ko kakalabitin ko ng paa ko pataas eh since kinalikot ko at ibinaba un idling ko dati... baba naman cya ng 400.. minsan tsumatsmba sya... at naiistuck sa 1000... heheh..
nahihirapan bumalik its either un pedal o ung spring dun sa throttle body... susubukan ko muna lagyan ng lubricant. :-D
Yung extra AUX Fan is useful sa mga naka montero. Mag improve daw yung AC system since may extra...
