official pics and info out today:

a little summary from the infiniti launch site:

300+ hp 3.5L v6 or 390 5.0L v8, 7 speed auto, rear active steer, 21 inch enkei wheels, functional side air vents, rw biased awd, auto adjusting suspension

intelligent cruise control and distance assist - first in production. maintains distance, slows or speeds up based on the vehicle in front (full speed to full stop).

lane departure prevention - similar to ex, keeps the vehicle from drifting to other lanes.

around the view monitor - another ex similarity. displays 360 top view of the car when parking.

others: advanced climate control - ion based filtration, vents automatically closed when outside fumes are detected.

Very nice. Much nicer than the bug-like Murano.

here are some car and driver fx50s stats:

    0-60: 5.0 sec
    quartermile: 13.6 sec * 104mph
    skidpad: .87 g

i guess i can get past the shark/catfish/rodent look . this beats forum speculations of mid 5s for a 5L V8. cant wait if the m50 (fuga) is next.

I guess I have to see one in order to really judge one. I saw the new G35 and I thought it wasn't ***y. Now I really really like it.

    MXFX,
Is the 4WD similar to the Skyline? What is your fuel consumption with this thing?

i observed the same thing with our fx and the sedans that at certain pics and angles, the styling is really off.

the awd is the same technology from skyline (attesa something). it starts with rear wheel drive, then sends power to front wheels up to 50% when needed.

i do mostly city driving and usually does 11-13 mpg (4.6 to 5.5 kml). that is with "spirited" driving to "letting everyone pass me" mode. freeway from 18 - 23 mpg (7.6 to 9.8 kml). that is around 80mph (my recent freeway speeds) and 75mph cruise (23 only acheived once). the v8 consumes more with standard awd and more goodies (weight) onboard.

blame the weight, the exhaust tune, and the temptation to drive fast. i know someone here who bought one and got a speeding ticket already within a few weeks .

    Jeez... 4-5 km/l? But I guess it's worth it.

I believe this car isn't your daily driven vehicle?
