Good day. May tatanong lang ako tungkol sa mga Taxi na 1.6 ang gamit nila. I just wondering, bat gamit nila ay 1.6?

Cedia? You sure? Never seen a Cedia Lancer roam the metro streets, let alone "madalas". Pizza Lancers, quite a few. And mostly the EL versions. Some GLX versions but if my memory serves me right that has the 1.5L carb engine. Clearly, AE101s, AE111s and the multitudes of Vios are still the dominant taxi fleet car. All 3 of which have 1.3L engines.

The Altis, aside from being more spacious, is a Corolla. And since time immemorial base model Corollas have been used as taxis so it's probably a case of "nakasanayan". Plus some cab riders are picky and always want the best cabs. I personally avoid AE101s because taxi drivers don't maintain cars well and at the age that AE101s are at right now, they're only decent if well maintained. Of course, during rush hours, beggars can't be choosers.

Anything smaller than a subcompact isn't fit for taxi use because you can never avoid running into a passenger with loads of stuff, or loads of passengers at one time. Plus there's supposedly a rule that hatchbacks aren't allowed to be used as taxis.

That reminds a few months ago I was able to ride a previous gen Lancer 1.6 GLX M/T, the one with the Boulay pizza grill...

Most 1.6 liter taxis I see are Corolla Altis models.

As a cab? That's unique. Probably as unique as the Carens taxi I see around. Would want to ride one of those too.

Couldn't get a ride that morning, then I saw the Lancer taxi 8 to 10 cars away. I ran towards it right away.
It was something different from the usual Vios, Accent, Rio, Altis, Avanza taxis I get to ride.

Other rare taxis aside from the Carens taxi is the Aveo sedan taxi, Aveo hatchback taxi and Suzuki Alto taxi.

Nakaita na ako nun. Gusto ko rin mag try sumakay. Avanza na taxi di pa ako naka sakay. Back to the Carens, nasa 1M yon, dami siguro pera nung may ari ng taxi. hehe

I rarely see Cedia's as taxi's. Just saw 2 to three I think. Carens, got to see 1 on the streets. Altis 10th gen, not so common. But it's quite plenty already.

Avoid Alto's, they're small. Passengers would opt for a sedan, like the vios or the sentra ( pre-facelift )

Can be more costly than the Alto, but atleast you'll have more passengers than what usually an alto gets.

I see. Thanks for the hints. The cedia part, may nakita talaga ako kaya lang bihira. Batas na ipinagbabawal ang hatchback meron dapat kaya lang only in da philippines. If you know what I mean. I saw alto taxi kasi mas mura (P369K) than vios (P599K).
