Nissan's had big success with the Murano crossover. Now, the Japanese automaker is developing a new model to fill the gap below the Murano in its crossover range. Designed with rivals from the Acura RDX and BMW X3 in mind, the new Nissan SUV is expected to adopt styling cues from the Murano, wedded to all-wheel drive and powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine or a version of the 3.5-liter V-6. The new Nissan compact SUV is expected to be a world car, for launch sometime in 2007 in the primary markets of theU.S. and Europe.
