Unang pakita as seen on the Japanese Nissan site:

Etong eto na, first teaser photos ng bagong Nissan Elgrand. The Toyota Alphard's main rival!

I'm sure darating sa Japan this year, but not sure kung when will it hit our shores soon.

malamang never officially for 2 main reasons:

    1. elgrand or alphard for that matter isn't produced in LHD configuration
    anywhere in the world.

    2. price.

as far as I know: Nissan has stopped sales for 2010 of Quest in anticipation of the new model in 2011. They do that as tradition in the US, dont sell Quest for a year then launch a new one in the next.

And because of cost-cutting, they're gonna base the new Quest on the platform where the new Elgrand is on and actually, the front half of the body will be the same with the Elgrand. Only cosmetic changes will differ... and the last half.. (maybe Quest will be longer)....

    PICS:

Nissan Forum (concept) - very similar to Elgrand...

Nissan Quest 2011 (teased) - if you compare the roof line of this to the 2009 Quest, you'll see that the new one will sport a flatter one, very similar to the new Elgrand.

So, we may actually get Elgrand, or Quest. Since front is similar, Elgrand can sport an RHD...

Which reminds me, totoo bang yung susunod na Nissan Quest ay magiging similar sa susunod na Elgrand?

Ang tanging disadvantage ay: naging front engine, front-wheel drive na ang latest Elgrand.

Dati rati, mga Elgrand ay FR, this generation is now FF because its platform is based from the Murano Z51 (now on sale) and the Teana (coming this year).

Not a big deal. Front-wheel drive vans can perform just as well as rear-wheel drive ones, and are more stable in slippery conditions (the MB100D doesn't count... its problem was that the gears were too long for climbing).

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Seems that the latest Elgrand will be sold in the States as the 2012 Quest, despite different face.

There's a chance na makita natin yang new generation Nissan Quest dito lalo na malamang itapat to sa Toyota Alphard. Expect nga lang na nasa 2.8-3 Million Pesos ang price tag.

    Ugh

    Grand Starex = Van, Korean
Montero Sport = Mid-Size SUV, Japanese
    Fortuner = Mid-Size SUV, Japanese

Nagtitipid ang Nissan Motor Of Japan kaya ginawa na nilang iisa ang Quest at Elgrand.Same platform din ng new Teana,Maxima,Altima and Murano.

Dati RWD yan pero naging FWD na ngayon dahil nag migrate sa D Platform.

May duda akong ang gagamiting engine dito sa Quest na pang Philippine market ay yung sa Murano which is VQ35DE instead of using the VQ37VHR.

wow talagang LHD nga! i ate my words from before akala ko di sila gagawa ng LHD version. sana kun makarating dito satin may diesel option padin tulad sa japan pero sa presyo nito ultra luxury van hinde siguro dapat mag alala ang starex mas kakalabanin nya ang sales ng mga accord at camry v6 which is a small market to begin with. pwede din vs. patrol at lc200 or mas better match prado.

haay sayang maganda nga mahal lang masyado.
