Lack of maintenance, that is the problem.

Here are the possible cause:
1. Could be that your transmission is on the way out or your camshafts are starting to wipe out!! Have it checked out!!

2.Check for plugged, exhaust not a common problem at that year of vehicle, another thing to do is change the fuel filter if you have not done so yet.

3. Either have failing fuel pump too, check your air filter element also. If all those are ok then check your throttle position sensor (TPS), map sensor, and the electrical contacts/connections of the same.

may smoke ba when you floor it? how bad? even badly maintained ga16 engines can keep running smoothly (i should know, i used to own one. no oil change for 3 years, overheating every 10 kms, etc etc.), so the usual suspects should include the fuel system, and the tranny like mr v6dreamer said...

update ko lang kayo...
dinala ni misis ung kotse sa autotechnika at sabi:

1. ginamitan ng consult pero walang nakitang sira sa engine.
2. yung ignition coil daw nag o-overheat kaya papalitan.
3. yung timing daw hindi tama kaya iaadjust ng 2 ngipin.
4. change plugs din.

tama kaya yung diagnosis nila?

* v6dreamer: sir alagang alaga yung auto sa maintenance. kakapalit nga lang ng langis, atf, at lahat ng filter pati fuel pump.

sir sabi mo kasi all the way to the floor na yung gas pedal mo pero hindi pa rin gumagalaw ang kotse mo i mean gumagalaw pero 20kph lang.

gumagalaw din ba ang rpm gauge habang inaapakan mo ang gas pedal or parang pinipigilan din ang rpm?

kailan ba ito nangyayari? after a long drive or pagstart lang ng makina then take off?

kailan mo huling pinagawa at anong ginawa sa kotse mo bago ito nangyari?

1. Palit ng distributor
2. Palit ng ignition coil
3. Adjust ng timing

Medyo nabutas nga lang bulsa ni misis hehehe.
