Nissan noob buyer

dami sinasabi negative about nissan.pero ok lang sa akin.nissan wouldn't be a top 3 japan contender if it were not for the quality.

so im inclined on buying a 2nd nissan. :D

bukas may titingnan ako na 1999 nissan sentra ex saloon.but i dont know any mech around or near my house.mahirap naman puntahan mga friends ko dahil sure ako na hinde sasama yun dahil nissan ang titingnan.buti sana kung chicks este honda o toyota e baka sumama pa nga yun.hehe :D

i've check around the net for some tips.but mahirap i-apply lalo na kung hinde talaga ako marunong sa kotse coming from the motor side.hinde pa nga ako marunong magdrive eh :D

is there any quick tips that can help me around?or is there anyone near novaliches who i can call and help me?

this would be my first time on buying and viewing a car.

any ideas or help would be greatly apprciated.tnx tnx

Never believe that there is nothing to fix on old cars. There is always something to fix on old cars.

From the price, you can still haggle another 10K to 20K less from the price. From the buy&sell, at P170K you can get a Sentra 1.6L M/T.

Eto yung mga titingnan ko ng maigi:

Engine - check if there are oil leaks or funny sounds. Check mo yung yung sa may valve cover or yung timing belt cover kung maitim at malangis. Kung meron, ingat ka, baka dagdag gastos sa pagpapaayos. Also, listen for any funny sounds. A well-maintained engine sounds clean. I-rev mo yung makina, pag tunog umiiyak, something needs to be adjusted.

Paint/Body - There should be no dents, chips or uneven shades of paint. Pag meron, most probably, nabangga na yan at pinaayos na.

Aircon - Check kung consistent yung lamig. Try to check also the blower, baka hindi na malakas yung buga. Yung temp gauge, dapat hindi lalagpas sa kalahati. Check also the radiator fans. Dapat bubukas lang yung isang fan pag naka-on yung aircon. Pag parehong umaandar pag patay ang AC, baka naka-rekta yung fan. Could be bad in the long run.

Suspension - Dapat hindi matagtag or nagbo-bottom out when you hit tall humps. You will feel a rough ride naman pag ni-road test niyo.

Most important, check the mileage. Normal usage is around 15 to 20,000 kms. a year. So, dapat 150 to 200,000 kms. pa lang yung takbo nung kotse. Anything higher, most probably laspag na yung makina.

Try mo pang tumawad. For me, mataas pa rin yung 165k for a 10-year old car. Pero baka nga naman in good condition nga. And listen to your heart. Pag gusto kasi, kahit anong presyo, hehehe.

i will only get the feel of driving if i have a car.mas madali kase masanay kung sayo ang sasakyan :D

the mileage was around 120k when i talked to the seller.malalaman ko bukas kung 120k nga :D

about sa engine.maybe i can check the sounds lang.kase sa mga nasakyan ko na kotse dati may mga engine na sobrang tahimik kahit i-rev mo.hehe.

+1 sa advice ng ating mga kasama . Advice ko lang sa iyo check mo iyong sunog ng apat na spark plug . Dito mo malalaman kung condition makina kung maganda sunog ng bawat isa .kung tuyo at kulay brown ayos ito pag basa at ma carbon na kulay itim hindi maganda ito. At sa outlet ng muffler makita mo rin kulay ng carbon nito . Kadalasan kasi pag nag long drive tayo makikita mo na ang sunog ay tuyo na namumuti na brown ang kulay ibig sabihin nito maganda ang kundisyon ng makina mo . Tignan ninyo minsan ang sunog ng tip ng muffler ninyo. Tip ko lang ito sa mga hindi kabisado pag tingin sa makina kung maayos .

hhhmmm i really need to get a mech.hinde pa ako marunong magbukas lalo na sa mga simpleng bagay na yan.but will add that to my inspection list.naka barong kase ako bago ko titingnan tomorrow yung unit.baka madumihan ako.hehe :D

magaaral pa lang ako magdriver once nakakkuha na me ng unit :D

Fact #1: There is no such thing as a "perfect car". So an ad that clearly states "Nothing to Fix" is BU__S_IT! But this does not mean the car isn't worth buying. It would depend on the amount or repairs the car needs.

You clearly mentioned that you are a noob on car (1st time buyer). Honestly, you may end up as an injured seal in a seafull of sharks. I would STRONGLY suggest (if not insist) that if and when you would check a candidate car, make sure to bring a TRUSTED and KNOWLEDGEABLE technician. In the absence of one, I don't recommend you to make a commital at the least. You have to make sure that there will be a 2nd time where your technician would be present.

Just concerned for your welfare, sid3swip3. Embarrassing it may sound but "Been There, Done That" ako dyan myself dati. Nakaka-trauma.
