New 2010 Nissan Patrol

Spy shots of what appears to be the next Nissan Patrol have just popped up from the Middle East. The Patrol is a Toyota Land Cruiser competitor that has until now only been sold in markets outside of North America. It is believed, however, that Nissan may consider bringing this 2010 version of the Patrol to the States to fill some of the holes left by the cancellation of the Armada and Infiniti QX56. Adopting design cues like a cantilevered roof from the 2007 Nissan Terranaut Concept, the 2010 Patrol also looks a bit like a passenger version of the new NV2500 light commercial vehicle we showed you last week.

It is expected that the new Patrol will remain body-on-frame, and that it will pick up a 4.8L V8 for the engine bay. Other engine options will likely include a 4.0L V6 and 3.0L V6 diesel (co-developed with Renault) that is rumored to produce 265 hp and 405 ft-lbs of torque. Thanks for the tip, Eb!

Will it still be rigid axles front and rear? Or will it follow the LC with IFS setup?

A new Nissan Patrol perhaps!? But we watched the Japanese or other markets stopped selling those! (scoffs) Could that be... sold in other markets when its' here?

*senna- u mean the current Super Safari? i think UMC is still selling this but in limited numbers... also i think this model is still being assembled here at the STAR, Sta. Rosa, Laguna

it was rumored before that the Patrol will retain the old body style for years to come. others even questioned its future! indeed, nissan has a lot of surprises.

i would find this patrol more realistic once the aussie version is on sale. right now, i still have to get used to the design of this one. its too car-like (or even a 4x2 version) for me when this is supposed to be a brute.

The pictures seem to have been shot during an official presentation of the vehicle. The new Patrol will be Nissan's largest 4X4 model competing head on with the Toyota Land Cruiser. The vehicle's exterior styling has been thoroughly refined adopting several design cues from the Nissan Terranaut Concept that was revealed at the 2006 Geneva Show.

This is exactly my same thoughts / impressions. Parang Rav4 sa side. Nawala yung "tapang" niya.

the pics of the pathfinder remind me of the pathfinder i saw on our way to glorietta way back then. makes me think mas malaki ito kaysa sa patrol. looks like an expedition kasi nung nakita namin ng friend ko ito when we are riding sa bus

I guess the Pathfinder's beefy styling and fat tires make it look bigger than it really is, its actually smaller than the Patrol.
The Pathfinder is the SUV version of the Frontier Navara, its roughly the same size as the Ford Explorer and Everest.

Matagal nang rumors na ganyan ang lalabas na 2010 Patrol.

Para saakin mas maganda ang current patrol. Yung 2010 patrol kasi parang oversized ang exterior and wala na yung spare tire sa likod.
