March 7th, 2003 01:15 PM #1walang motorcycle forum so dito na lang ako nag post...
i'm in the hunt for a motorcycle kasi eh... mostly as an alternative mode of transport vs a pickup/sedan... hindi naman yung mga big bike (dahil ang mamahal sobra)... i'm looking at either one of these:
Yamaha DT
Honda XL (XLR sana kaso sobrang taas)
Suzuki Raider
Honda XRM
Honda Wave
option din yung mga china made imitations of these models.. what do you guys think?

oo nga, sana magkaroon ng motorcycle forum dito.
wowiesy,
so you have already bought a bike? how much is your budget?
i suggest you get something that is comfortable (not a sportbike i.e. GSXR, ZZR, FSR, VFR, etc.) due to the bad traffic & road conditions in mmla.
for 2nd hand bikes, try visiting www.manilabikes.com, for forums www.motorcyclephilippines.com
i know kcboy is also looking for one.

ya.. i see kcboy in the motorcyclephilippines forum also...
as for buying a bike.. i'm taking my time... originally, i only had my eyes on the ones i mentioned (dt, xl, xlr, xrm, raider, wave)... but now that i've read through more stuff and i'm learning more about bikes, the thought of humping and revving a 400cc sport bike is very attractive... looking further at websites of honda, yamaha and kawasaki, nagiging attractive na rin yung mga cruiser / standard types...
all in all i want to learn more about bikes muna, especially the strengths and weaknesses of certain models... i also wanna learn more about maintenance stuff... before i really decide into going into sport bikes / cruiser type bikes...
another thing that's holding me back is that i bought myself an SYM shark 125cc scooter last may 2000 and right now eh halos yung driver na lang namin ang madalas gumamit nun kapag nauutusan sya as messenger around metro manila...

Motorcycles are a great alternative in traveling.
I suggest you get accustomed first with your SYM Shark, use it sparingly so you could have a better idea of what you're looking for.
For me, I've been using my bike for more than 6 months now, usually M-W-F, Las Pinas to Mandaluyong.
It greatly reduced my travelling time from 50mins to 30mins. And I would soon upgrade to a 400cc standard one. (Suzuki Bandit, Honda CB1/CB400, Yamaha Diversion, etc.)
Keep on posting!!
