Brake checking is not enough these days.

Picture below shows the damage the bus did on this ppv.

If the vehicle behind is tailgating you, just let him pass.

Don't ever perform a brake-check. The stupidity of one tailgater is not worth his passengers' life, your life or whoever is with you in your vehicle.

I was referring to tailgating at highway speeds. Provincial buses, especially, loves to play tango with the car in front.

in the highway, i practice the 3 second or 4 second rule.
alas, 'tis all the space an overtaker needs, to overtake and swerve in front of me.

When tailing a vehicle with a tow hitch, do you guys take more caution or treat it as any other vehicle in the road?

I think of it as a longer vehicle, especially in stop and go traffic. Otherwise, you may just have that hitch sitting inside your front bumper.

i stay away farther. it's not easy to estimate just how long that sungay is.

How about trucks and even lighter but slow moving vehicles such as tricycles na nagbubuntutan kala mo convoy at mahirap makasingit between them. Though I don't think there is a rule for it, pero goodness, common sense, imagine 3 trucks na nagbubuntutan na mababagal, as if you are trying to overtake a friggin train.

kulang padin sa education. imagine one of them trucks losing control ie partial brake failure. braking distance is compromised.

nakakatulong kaya ito from all sorts of dumb distracted drivers
