    IMO>>>

    If
MMPC wishes to sell this locally they have to:

    1. install the 3rd row- this might be possible. just remove the tray and put the 3rd row there... this was done on the Strada G-Wagon
    2. Limited Availability- niche market ito IMO. a la Range Rover defender
    3. Assemble this locally or convince thailand to resurrect their ditched out assembly for this model na- and get LHD steering kits. Right now, im sure MMPC is concentrating on the All-New Montero Sport .
    4. Must have the Regular 2.8 4M40 or the 2.5 4D56 D-ID CRDi engine and must be priced P1.1Million below for an M/T model with 4x4 Super Select

*dadz, i had that in mind initially but i think the engine bay may not fit the 3.2 na ang laki! also, if a 3.2 if in here, it might create market redundancy versus the Pajero/Montero Sport.

*Gerbo, i have a long story to tell you about your choices... should you come up to Baguio soon, please let me know. coffee tayo.

Yessiree. Opportunity na lang of going to the Pine City. Used to go there at least once a year previously (my wife and her siblings used to live and go to school there but has since individually moved on).

Para di OT...There might even be a golden opportunity for Mitsubishi to subvert other offerings by other brands, reviving the 4x4 gen2 FM with a 2.5 DiD engine might not be bad idea after all esp. if priced accordingly.

The FM is still a Filipino favorite, by the way. And still a very good and superior alternative to the Sportivos, Innovas and 5-seater CUVs.

Surprisingly, the Fieldmaster still sells but that's just for now. I think the Fieldmaster market is not that wide compared to vans (Adventure or L300).

The Fieldmaster will sell even with a 2.5L DiD engine and a 4x2/4x4 (Easy Select) model. Forget about the ABS, Traction Control etc. leave that to the Montero Sport and the top of the line Gen 4 Pajero.

Just simple and true workhorse, priced accordingly.

If Mitsubishi has a choice, what would be easier to do:

    (A) Retool the current 2.5 gen Fieldmaster Pajero with a 4x4 transmission

    or

    (B) Revived the 1st-gen Montero Sport and place a 3rd row passenger amenities

So that prospective buyers would not face a dilemma such as this:

Such offering would have a substantial market (not niche), IMO. Old designed but tough all purpose vehicles that seats at least 7. Personally, my kind of transport.

BTW, alin kaya sa dalawa ang mas mabenta?

To sir drey, perhaps this is more viable than bringing in Russia's UAZ?

Hmmm... They should revive the old Fieldmaster look. Give it a 4X4 tranny and the 4D56 DiD engine. The current Fieldmaster is way too expensive, imo. This is being assembled locally, right? Reviving the old Montero Sport won't make good business sense, its quite redundant na for their line-up and I think it will be a threat to the current 'new' model.

The UAZ is still being introduced in Germany and other European countries. I guess for now, the Lada Niva is the most known Russian 4x4 yet.
