Curb Weight is the actual weight of the truck without any passengers or cargo in it. It’s the base weight that is used in subtraction to calculate the total weight of the vehicle with passengers and cargo.

Gross Vehicle Weight is the total weight of the loaded vehicle. This includes the vehicle itself and the cargo that is loaded within that vehicle.

Pajero weighs in between 1590-2450kgs. the figure seems too light for me, pero i'll double check later.

3498lbs - 5390lbs. Iba iba yung nakikita ko sa net eh. Paki check kung ano tama :D

Kaya malaki discrepancy kasi maraming models and configurations ang pajero.

If i were to guess, our Gen2's would be at the heavy end.

curb weight is the weight of the vehicle with the spare tire, all fluids at the proper levels, and a full tank of fuel i think.

mga 4,500 pounds ata yung Pajero kung hindi ako nagkakamali.

malabong 3,500 pounds lang yan because a CR-V almost weighs that much, at malabo ring above 5,000 pounds because that's approaching the weight of a much larger (and heavier) Land Cruiser or Patrol.

Yung lower limit baka sa SWB. Yung upper limit baka sa kick up roof with all the goodies added. Got those figures from the net. :D

What is the significance of the curb weight? For excise tax calculation purposes ba ito? I think a layman won't give much attention on the curb weight.

power-to-weight ratio largely determines how fast a vehicle will accelerate... 160 hp pulling just 2600 lbs (tulad ng SiR), sobrang bilis nun. pero 160 hp pulling 4500 lbs (like a trooper), hindi ganun kabilis. :D but there are other factors like gearing etc etc... pero power-to-weight would give you a pretty good idea

for off-roading, may ibang effects din yung curb weight... like kung ma-stuck ang RAV4 at patrol, mas madali tulakin or hilain yung rav4 kesa patrol...

curb weight also has important consequences for crash safety. generally, the heavier the vehicle, the less damage it will sustain IF the other vehicle is lighter than it.

    mbt: 170hp po ang Trooper 4JX1-TC :-)

TORQUE wins races. HORSEPOWER sells the car.

    Toyota "Torque" vs. Honda "Horsepower".

Torque is more on low end grunt while horsepower is primarily the highest specific output of an engine. Honda has high horsepower figures but you have to rev them hard to get to the power (no good off road). Most diesels are making near-peak power and torque at around 2,000 rpm.

    mbt,

Mabigat ang frame ng Pajero. Boxed frame kasi unlike others na c-shape lang. And madaming crossmembers.
