may gen 1 din kami 92 model ata yun ,ang difference lang ata is yung parang mga gauge sa gitna, ok naman ang fuel consumption nya, laguna to manila back and forth mga 150, medyo mausok lang kaya lagi dapat pa changeoil.yung mga parts ok naman mga bushing lang ang madalas palitan, and frequent grease wash is needed para di umingay.lam ko mura mga parts nyan dami naman kc surplus nun sa banawe and evangelista. good buy na yan kung di laspag

Our Pajero is an '89 model SWB orig LHD Gas, we got it for 330k around two years ago. 210?!?! cheap yun! Orig. LHD po ba? . yung amin po kasi bago palit timing chain kaya naging efficient na sa gas. parts... marami po, kasi dami na din mga surplus. and its worth it.. SWB po ba?

We also had a GEN I. Sulit siya if you're going to use it off-road. Kung puro on road lang, sayang lang yung added weight and complexity of the 4WD system.

Yung GEN I namin 1988. Nabenta ng Php 220T last year. Wala pang turbo iyon. Fuel consumption is between 7-9 km/L.

It will climb a 45 degree slope, stay upright on a 40 degree side slope, and based on our experience, it can ford water up to the door handles (right, afrasay? ).

Usual problem diyan is maraming squeaks and rattles ang interior. Pagtiyagaan mo na lang.

That model is a classic. Hindi na maluluma iyan. May I also add that chicks really dig that Pajero.

that is cheap for a 4x4 na orig LHD. But kung me problem ang engines and kasukasuan...you'll probably spend another 200K upgrading it....adding turbo, reconditioning engine, changing clutch, adding aircon, etc.

Opkors pag road worthy na ito for 4wheeling....bibili ka na naman ng upgrades...snorkel, winch, heavyduty bumpers, rancho shocks, ome lift springs and the list goes on.....

Tutumba ka siguro na another 150K

    so 210+200+150 = 560K ..... think muna sir

    my 2 cents.

Yung GEN I ni afrasay pina-dual a/c niya. Kinopya nila yung rear a/c ng mga '97 Troopers.

El loco::: 210T . Tawad mo pa 200T. Ayos na yan. The 10T tawad will go a long way for your underchassis and overall tune-up. Parts are readily available. In fact I've just replace the oil seals and o-rings of my gearbox just yesterday.

If you're not very particular of squeeks, rattles and rolls, its cheap. The gen1 is a go anywhere (yes, it fords water up to "door handle" deep water) vehicle, well , except the alimall carpark. It's kinda (hmmm... KINDA!!!) slow, like 0-100kph in 3 days but who needs speed. It carrys 7 passenger comfortably (max. no. I've tried is 12 pas.)w/ folding 2nd and 3rd row seat for bigger load. It's a utility vehicle too.

Check out my pictures. It's the blue pajero.

    afrasay,

Pero road or no road, it will still hit 80 kph (ayos, astig!).

Ano problema sa Ali Mall? Hindi ako Cubao person, eh.

as for the engine, baka mas mura pa mag swap ng 4d56tdic or 4m40tdic kesa i-turbo mo yung stock engine. saka pag nag-turbo ka kasi ng stock, walang throttle sensor kaya yung pag-regulate ng turbo hindi kasing ganda ng makina na factory stock yung turbo.

may na-email ako dati sa dieselguys na guide to buying used pajero. baka meron pang may kopya na pwede mag forward kay sir. loco... wala na kasi ako kopya nun dahil nag-crash yung hard drive ko dati.

I was interested before in getting one of those Gen I Pajeros that first came out of Subic (orig LHD). I nearly bought a SWB one with J-top and the 2.6L 4-cylinder gas engine, but I was hesitant because of all the stories I heard about the cylinder heads of these engines being to cracks and it was very difficult to get replacement ones. Aside from this, I heard that it had a very thirsty engine because it was still using a carburetor.

Anyone with any experience about this engine on these Gen I Pajeros? I'm still thinking about getting one of these Pajeros with the 2.6L 4-cylinder gas engine but I'd really like to know if these engines are easy to repair and maintain and if there are parts readily available (such as cylinder heads, carbs, etc.). I plan to use this as a daily driver. I would appreciate any advice you guys can give me regarding this specific engine.

Hehehe. Wala halos low end torque dahil gasolina. Rev ka ng rev to get things going. Hindi katulad ng diesel na perfect for stop and go.

Okey naman ang performance for this body. At saka marami pa bang available parts nito such as the cylinder heads at carbs?

    To otomatic, offroadmom and Boy2,

Thanks in advance.

    El Loco,

Halos lahat ng Pajero (except the very early and the government ones) ay all power. Yung 88 namin and yung kay afrasay (parehong non-turbo), all power na.

Test drive the vehicle to see if everything works. If you want pa-compression test mo yung makina.

Hahanapin ko yung docs mamya when I get home.
