It's like an egg shaped Lancerjudging from the exterior, the rear seats appear to be cramped suggesting it to be a two seater, lady driven runabout for quick trips to the mall.
The boxy front seems to contradict the remaining 2/3 towards the rear which opposingly suggests a more Euro accent. That front belongs perfectly on the Lancer but not on a Colt. The Colt has always been ***ier (like the Colt Mirage of the 1980's) so they should give it its own identity instead of harping on the Evo look.
A far cry from its closest rival here, the 2009 Honda Jazz, which sports a more aggressive looking front, tons of space at the boot and of course has inherited the much wanted Civic steering wheel.
Now the question for this Colt's generation is...what's under the bonnet? :naughty2:

More like half a generation newer since its really more of a facelift than an all-new model.
I'm guessing it uses the same engines as the current one.
Current Euro Colt engine lineup:
55kW (75PS) 1.1 MPI DOHC 12-valve inline-3
70kW (95PS) 1.3 MPI DOHC 16-valve inline-4
80kW (109PS) 1.5 MPI DOHC 16-valve inline-4
110kW (110PS) 1.5 MIVEC turbo DOHC 16-valve inline-4
70kW (95PS) 1.5 DI-D 12-valve inline-3
(Japan)
1.3 MIVEC
1.5 MIVEC
1.5 MIVEC Turbo
Old face of the 3-door Colt
As far as I know the 3-door Colt is exclusive to Europe, I wonder if the JDM Colt will get this new face.
wow, mukhang magkakatotoo ang aspirations for a mitsu citirally challenge ha
this confused me, now i can't choose between the lancer(possible upcoming diesel hatch) and the colt(if ever it comes to our shores in a nongray market way)
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?
this could be it!!!

a mitsu executive told top gear magazine that it cannot bring the colt to our market since it will not be competetive pricewise with the jazz and other subcompacts since the colt is made in japan.
to compete in the subcompact category, mitsu has to build a new ASEAN car.
a.k.a. budget edition design. hehehe
mitsubishi and her shark nose nilagay nasa every mitsu car they can think of
the lancer looked like a mean-looking JAWS movie. pero ito, the colt looks like a shark in finding nemo the movie

Mitsubishi Colt & Colt Ralliart Unveiled in Paris
It’s that time again, when Mitsubishi unveils the new generation Colt. Baby Colt was shown at the Paris Motor Show for the first time and is coming to a Mitsubishi dealer near you, in Europe anyway, by November 2008. In keeping up with the competition, the Colt will be offered in 1.1-litre, 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre Clear Tec engine variants. These are good for 75ps (100Nm), 95ps (125Nm) and 109ps (145Nm) each respectively. All in petrol. The last Colt diesel sold dismally so Mitsu will not go down that slippery spiky path again this time around. The engines are equipped with automatic stop and go technology to help improve fuel economy and reduce bad emissions. Standard is a 5-speed manual transmission but an AllShift automated manual is offered with the 1.3.
Ralliart as any world car fan knows, is a badge synonymous with Lancer performance but has now been introduced for baby Colt as well. The Colt Ralliart replaces the old 3-door CZT and adds another innovation to the name by giving an extra two doors for variation, if you prefer it. So puny power becomes practical as well. The car runs a 150ps 1.5-litre turbo engine on both versions. As far as equipment goes, since you are not paying too much for these cars you aren’t getting that much back either. Some nice features include an auxiliary plug for audio inputs, cruise control and “come home” lighting.
