Better to buy the similar-era clone starex 4x4 (not sure lang if local or imported but original lhd at least) back then. Although its prone to rust issues because korean metallurgy was subpar during that time.

Looks interesting. I wonder if this car might be Hyundai's most "legit" 4x4? I know the Tucson, Santa Fe and Palisade are more like AWD than true 4x4.
Of course there's the license built Galloper but isn't the Starex more a true Hyundai design?

Yes, i do think so. Since it's based on the 4th-gen delica/space gear, which in turn shares some of its underpinnings with the 2nd-gen pajero.
