October 5th, 2011 02:34 AM #4im not sure if there is a connection, pero ung mga unang labas ng estrada ay may tendency na mag-"wild" bigla siya magrerev ng napakataas, na hindi mo makontrol (kaya nga wild hehe
). Minsan, bigla nagwild iyong sasakyan habang pababa kaya nahulog sa d naman kataasan na bangin kaya no loss of life resulted. Since then i have been asking the experience ng estrada owners of that model, wala pa ganitong forum then. I was able to confirm na talagang defect nga ng estrada un sa dami ng nagconfirm na they experienced the same at least once. What made me sure na hindi driver error eh dahil may nakaexperience na nagwild ung sasakyan habang naka-idle at nakapark at walang tao sa manibela dahil lumabas iyong driver, it was revving wildly with no apparent reason until it went back by itself to its normal idling state.
so ano ang similarity nung old estrada sa montero? they have a 2.5 4D56 turbo incooler engine, siyempre mas bago montero but is it possible that they are based on the same platform, and if the old problem was not determined then there is that possibility that it was carried over to the engine of the montero.
i know nothing about the montero because im not the owner of one although im interested in one kaya ko hinanap forum na ito when i read in the papers about the issue of sudden acceleration.
Meron pa mga owners ng old estrada, if you know one try asking them...
just want to share...

October 5th, 2011 02:42 AM #5manual transmission po pala iyong mga old estrada na tinotokoy ko (wala pa yata automatic that time), sa mga nababasa ko ay sa mga automatic transmission nagkakaroon problema iyong sudden acceleration ng montero. my guess... the problem is in the engine, it can happen regardless of what kind of transmission

mitsu007: saan mo ba nakuha mga information and confirmation about Strada? Lumabas ang current generation strada late 2006. 2007 nabuo ang Strada Club of the Philippines. Many Strada owners I know of, haven't experienced this. I for one owned a Strada. Im not ruling out that its a made up story about sudden acceleration, but as most have posted here in this thread, it's probably driver error and don't want to admit it.
I'd like to quote you "I was able to confirm na talagang defect nga ng estrada un sa dami ng nagconfirm na they experienced the same at least once." how did you get these confirmation from Strada owners? If you check the Strada thread or The Strada Club of the Philippines thread, I haven't read of this so called wild acceleration. SCV replacement, that I have heard. I'm really trying to think if I have experienced this uncontrollable acceleration (although I have manual transmission), if ever i have, just pressing the clutch will dissengage the engine from the transmission.
Lastly sir its Strada not estrada.
