I own a 7G galant, 97 model A/T, actually, kursunada ko rin sanang bumili ng 8G galant as my 2nd car. More or less, nasa 200K ang price ng 98-2000, 8G galant. Ang alam ko lang na pros, it's a fast and good looking car, and of course spacious being a mid-size sedan, cons naman, mahal ang MVUC sa LTO registration compared to compact cars, SUVs, AUVs, CUVs and pick ups. However, based on my experience, ok naman ang AT, as long as you and the previous owner take/took good care of the car, alagain lang sa change oil and change ng automatic trans fluid.

Pros: Best buy! Lugi kasi talaga mga first owners.
Lo maintenance since quality parts talaga ang used for this model.
Fastest in its class! Can even beat brand new cars on a head to head race! : )

Cons: Fuel Consumption (specially during CITY driving which consumes about 8km/lr, sa highway driving mas economical siya)
Like any used and aging cars, expect problems na rin. Remember 10 yrs and up na rin yung mga Galant 98-99 models.
LTO Registration. Malaki kasi ang makina kaya ako umaabot ng 6k (kasama na ang air emmission test).

Anyways all in all sa akin sulit pa rin naman talaga, specially kung sa porma. And remember limited lang ito. Super rich lang talaga ang mga first owners nyan kaya talagang sulit naman in its class. Check for kalampags na lang on your suspension. Also check mo kung nakabig sa kanan (yun kasi problem ko when I first bought it). Recently Distributor Rotor ang naging problem ng Gal (Galant) ko. Oks na uli. So good luck on choosing one too. It all depends naman talaga on the previous owner.

Hello, I just bought a 1994 galant super saloon. I just want to know what are the specs of this model? I plan to restore this car to its former glory since this model was my former college car during the late 90s.... To date I had so many things replaced such as: distributor cap, fuel filter, oil filter, air filter, timing belt, balancer belt, tensioner bearing, crankcase gasket, replaced all fluids, timing belt adjuster, upper arm suspension, both lower arm suspension, front shocks (kyb), stabilizer link front and rear, tie rod, rack end, stabilizer bushing, etc.... I still plan to replace the front bumper with fog lights that have projector type lamps, new leather seats, maybe a set of viento tail lights... I am hoping that this project car will be a success... Hope you guys out there can share some thoughts on restoring this model.... I'll appreciate it a lot....

Hello gentlemen, Im new here in tsikot...may question lang po ako about my 99 galant A/T...Last weekend po nilinis ko yung carburetor..then nung papasok ako sa office napansin ko sa arangkada kumakadyot yung oto pero pagdating sa rekta about 60-80kph normal na yung power nia.. nagpalit na din ako ng spark plug pero ganun pa din yung problem, sa unag arangkada kumakadyot na parang kinakapos ng power..thanks!

Ako po may Galant 6g (88-91 model). 246,000 km and still running
Question po mga paps, magkano magpa'rebuild ng transmission ? kasama labor at pyesa ? kase minsan pag long driving at mainit na makina may "grinding" noise pag nag shishift sa reverse at mahirap mag shift sa 1st gear. Imposibleng clutch kasi napalitan ko na 2 months ago. Patulong naman mga sir ! Salamat !
