Best choice ba to Swap my L300 to Starex for my daily use to work?

Having driven both, ang layo ng driving experience ng L300 from Starex.

The Starex is definitely more car like. The L300 feels like you're driving a bus.

There is no comparison. The Starex is light years ahead in all aspects.

But since they share the same basic engine, maintenance is roughly the same.

It all boils down now to the actual condition of the unit you are considering.

Similar Engine, how about fuel consumption? is the same?

Hindi ko po sure, gasolina po yung L300 namin.

I guess whatever penalty in fuel economy there is will be more than paid for by the advances in safety, comfort, ergonomics, etc.

early Starexes had fuel consumption problems. while an ancient L300 with 4D56 engine can get 10-12km/l city driving. some 98 Starexes can get as low as 7km/l. that's diesel too. 2.5L and turbocharged. there are NAs available with early Starex too but its 2.6L more of the same engine but bigger.

On the safety front, the Starex has:
*Crumple Zones
*Reinforced front and rear bumpers (required by Korean market)
*Seatbelts for all occupants even when the 2nd row seat is in reverse-facing mode. All outboard seating positions get ELR belts.
*Cabin materials are designed to absorb impact (e.g. when you hit them during a crash)
*Cabin materials are designed to meet fire resistance requirements.

I agree. The Starex is way ahead of the L300 in those terms. But, in terms of fuel consumption, it is quite thirsty, I would suppose due to the heavy body. There's not much difference in performance between the 2.6L NA and the 2.5L Turbo. But the 2.5L TDIC is another story. Another great story is the 2.5L CRDI.

i agree that you should swap your l300 for starex. malaki ang difference sa comfort and everything. medyo lamang lang ng konti ang l300 sa kunsumo ng fuel, pero sa lahat na eh lamang na lamang ang starex, dami pa pogi points, hehehehe
