Oil leak from turbo? Just passed 20000kms oil leak na.
Please give your advice on its possible cause.
Llif its not a loose hose kr something pa warranty naba ito.
Car feels normal except hindi ako satisfied sa fuel consumption. Best na ang 10kms/l pure highway o crusi g at 2000rpm

By the way naka blank din ba EGR ninyo? Mas malala ang leakage kasi kung nakablank at marumi na ang air filter. The vacuum in the intake manifold will suck the lubricating oil from the shaft of turbo during idle. Titigil lang kapag nagspool na ang turbo or may boost pressure na.

In the montero's lifetime maybe the longest idle i did was 30 mins but usually its only 10 mins max. But as you mentioned mainit na, madalas dalas gawin 10min idling at this time. Car is stock, no modifications. Maybe the air filter is worn out with age but not that dirty, i have an air compressor and within the 5k kms oci i usually clean the air filter ( i know not too close to the filter itself) mid point.

Oil starvation?? Medyo sobra nga lagi mag lagay casa service.
Wala namn ako na spot iba oil stains but now i will further inspect.
Experience ko pag ganyan itsura may loose hose pero wala namn.
Well sana hose lang or its crimp lock

So i wont accept a repair kit type job from the dealership.
Pag sira hose/s dapat palit. Pag sira turbo dapat palitan.

Another angle, may dumi sa area ng higpitan ng hose from air filter

If the leak is really coming from the compressor side. Its either:

1. sobrang tagal nyo naka idle
or
2. sobrang dumi na ng air filter ninyo
or
3. May leak ang hose after the turbo (may leak ang intercooler)
or
4. at worst, the seal of the turbo is damaged (rarely happens unless starved with oil or some metal chips is lodge).

Turbo shaft oil seal is like piston ring. There is no soft rubber that will prevent pressurized oil from leaking.

Its the positive pressure of the exhaust that pushes back the oil and prevent oil leak on the turbine side.

Its the compressed air that pushes back the oil and prevent oil leak on the compressor side.

Clean it up and check probable cause 2&3. Avoid probable cause 1 (very long idling) summer na rin kasi ano mas masarap magpa aircon heheh.

If oil leak persist. Its probable cause 4. Pa replace nyo na turbo kung may warranty pa.

Hi there!! I got my monty last march 5 . After a week, nakakarinig ako ng tunog na parang may nabangga ako sa kanan sa harap when i turn right. Kasabay non, pag umaapak ako ng brake, may naririnig naman ako sa left na "tug". then last week, every time na iturn on ko yung aircon. Maasim un amoy nalumalabas,pero nawawala din.dinala ko sa service center. Ang sabi yung sa kanan daw sobra hangin ng gulong. Nagadjust ako pero meron pa rin. Un sa left naman sabi ABS naman. Then yung sa aircon buksan ko daw yung bintana sa umpisa para mawala yung maasim na amoy. Please help. Thanks

Lumang stock cguro nakuha mo sir. Dapat amoy bagong upholstery yung aircon mo. Di ba facelift lang yung 2014 ng previous model. Palitan na yan daming issues. Paki update kami sir kng ano ginawa ng dealer.

Amoy bago pa naman yung loob. Nung first 2 weeks ok din aircon. Ngayon lang nagkaganon. Ang dami ko pang naririnig. Balak ko nga dalin sa dealer this coming week

Kung musky yung smell pero light lng may nakapasok na dahon o plant parts sa aircon vent mo at nabulok o kaya may molds ang aircon system mo. Maasim?? no idea talaga. Nawheel at camber aligned na ba yan sir?

First paragraph for the question?! kung napaling during driving, 2 issues, kung sa tire inflation/alignment or sa brakes..
kung sa "tug" na sounds, abs is working, (disc brake/drum brakes)

kung sa aircon issue naman, nearly impossible na magkaroon ng defect, not unless kung prototype/display/test drive vehicle..
ang nakuha nyo, check nyo po yun aircon recirculation kung ano po ang config?! kung circulating o outside air?!


Nakuha po namin yung unit namin last march 20, pero original sched, is march 18, yun unit na reserve namin, old stock from the factory, pero yung sales agent namin, decided na i-hold at i-delay yung sched ng release, kasi may mga new batch of units na galing thailand na dumating sa batangas...kaya nakuha yung unit ng march 20, and which na galing thailand, yun ang coordination nya sa akin, and satisfied naman at during release ng unit namin, no problems occurred...

before na ma-release yung unit ng monty namin, (GLS-V MT) first thing na ginawa ko po, was to check the TPMS, and calibrated,
yung tire pressue ng unit, 29-F 31-R yung reserve tire nasa 35...passed sa first test check,

second test, to rev it up to the maximum rpm 4K (not to the redline) kasama yung sales agent, at isang tech-rep ng mitsubishi..
para makita ko kung meron bang black smoke na lumalabas sa exhaust, passed the second check...

a day after ng release ng unit namin, during start-up in the morning, idle up to 10 mins, then 20mins rest idling, naka-andar na po yung aircon, both auto and manual config sa aircon, then rev it..wala naman problem...

GLX matic un kinuha namin. Gusto kasi namin din ma sure kung un mga tumutunog eh talagang dahil sa abs. Kahit po ba yung mga brand new kelangan ipa calibrate? Thanks

gud day sir/ need some info for those who has montero sport na check nyo na ba ang oil dipstick nyo na open ang engine after. a long ride then na buga ng smoke ang dipstick.(engine on)is it normal?

are you using car freshener? meron kasing klase ng car freshener na nagre-react sa condensation ng aircon ang chmicals nito. this happened to me several times before in different types of cars. avoid using lysol also or similar items, nakaka asim din ng amoy ng aircon yun dahil "apparently" ina-absorb ng aircon vents yung chemicals nya...
