Its powered by a 258hp 3.8 liter MIVEC V6 that also powers the Eclipse GT.

On paper the Galant Ralliart has the sauce. Its 3.8-liter V6 engine is a great powerhouse cranking out 258 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.
    0-60mph in 6.5 sec

These 235/45R18 all-season Goodyears and seven-spoke alloy wheels are unique to the Ralliart.

Now that's a better engine... Not like the puny 4cyl 2.4 here.

Better, but in terms of practicality the 2.4 liter MIVEC ain't that bad...

What really needs some fixing is the ASEAN Galant's nose, if they can only make it look like the US and Australian version.
    ASEAN/Taiwan Galant

They need to get rid of that prominent Olivier Boulay designed nose.

If you ask me, the ASEAN nose looks much better than the USDM. If the ASEAN nose looks bad, the USDM's is even worse.

Personally, I rather wish the Galant was styled like an upsized Evo and with the same agressive looks.

    credits to AM/AG4/AM2...

if only the Galant looked this good + the MIVEC engine in the recently introduced Galant 240M...it would be a hot seller!!!!

AG4, why dont you forward this to MMC?

Hmmmh, that or a 265 hp +++ Nissan Altima SER with sub-6 second 0-60 times... 'standard' SEs are rumored to be faster than 350Zs... or the new V8 Chevy Impala SS (yessiree, front wheel drive) with 303 hp.

Great time to go car shopping, if you don't mind spending for gas.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    LMAO

I dunno if Mitsu was trying to be unique by giving their definition of "tiptronic/manual mode".

But in fairness though, this car looks nice (with a front grille way better than our local "kindney" grille)

That's what Mitsu needs now, maybe with this RalliArt Galant the Lancer EVO and the soon to be all new Outlander, it can boost sales here in the US. I think Mitsubishi is being outsold by Hyundai and Kia. I remember back in the days Mitsu introduce Hyundai here in the US with Mitsu Engines, Transmissions etc... But now Hyundai is more popular here, I see more Hyundai vehicles than Mitsu's.

It is. Hyundai is 4th, behind Toyota, Honda, and Nissan since something like a couple of years ago. I've seen many Hyundai Sonatas and Mazda6s here. But, I've seen exactly one 2006 Galant and it's already midway through the year.

I'm not sure if this version of the Galant will do much good. The regular 3.8L V6 Galant already has 230hp and does 0-60mph at 6.8 sec. It's got plenty of power. But, it's the styling that seems to turn many people off. We test drove one when we were looking for a new midsize car. But, the wife didn't like the looks from the start and it was stricken from our list of repeat test drives.

maybe it's just me..pero mas gusto ko talaga ang rayban and shark look since it's sportier than this version.

this one's good mainly because of its engine...so-so design ng exterior for me.
