Lost rear wiper blade

Just how easy is it to lose the Adventure's rear wiper blade?

Naitanong ko ito kasi habang papauwi kami kagabi na medyo malakas yung ulan, nakita ko na medyo malabo yung rear window ko. So I turn on my rear wiper to clear it up a bit, and I was surprised to see the wiper arm moving -- without the blade!

As far as I can tell, I always make sure to park in secure areas. Pero ayoko munang isipin na may nagnakaw ng wiper blade ko. Baka naman kasi natanggal lang siya while I was traversing a rough stretch of the highway. If it's the former, gaano ba kadali magtanggal ng rear wiper blade, para hindi mahuli ng guard? If it's the latter, ganun nga ba kadali makalas ang blade, konting alog lang sa kalsada tanggal na?

One more thing: ano ba ang standard size ng rear wiper ng Adventure, and how much does it normally cost, both in and out of the casa? If it helps, mine is a 2004 GLS Sport, 7-seater model. Thanks.

Does the Adventure use a hook type mechanism to connect the wiper blade to the wiper arm? If it does, madali nga lang tanggalin ito, pwede nga DIY e.

I hope it wasn't a thief who got your wiper blade. Kung sakali bagong modus operandi na naman ito, at bagong sakit ng ulo para sa mga car owners

well, its really easy to remove the wiper blades of mitsu adv's, i for one am using a mitsu adv ss 02 model. hook type lang kasi yung atin. pero hindi sya ganon kadali maalis kung malulubak ka lang. malamang may kumuha nyan kasi masikip naman ang hook type ng wiper blades natin. size for wiper blade is 20in. prices would differ depends on the manufacturer. cheapest is a double blade wiper which i saw in sm department store, forgot the brand though. its price is only P109 pair na. but some brands would cost around P300 isang piraso lang yun.

Kung lug nuts ang nanakawin, kailangan may dala na tire wrench ang magnanakaw; kung hubcap, mahirap itago sa ilalim ng damit, kung side mirror, baka mahuli ng guwardya. Hindi kasi obvious o pansinin ang rear wiper, kaya di usually mahahalata na nawala hangga't hindi ginagamit (madali pa sya itago, kahit i-shoot mo sa loob ng pants lang). On the crook's motive, I really have no idea. Mabebenta pa kaya ng magnanakaw ito sa surplus na auto supply? Kahit siguro mabenta nya ng P40 ito, pambili na rin ng hapunan yon.

Or maybe it was a vandal o di kaya napag-tripan lang talaga ride mo. Saan ka ba naka-park bago mo napansin na nawala yung wiper? I'm more inclined to think someone deliberately took the wiper since, as the other posters have said, it's highly improbable that the wiper would fall off by itself. Anyway, ingat na lang po at sana di na maulit yung incident.

Quite possibly, since madali tanggalin yung wiper. Usually kasi pina-park ko siya sa office basement, where the employee parking is. Could have been the guards or a co-employee for all I know. O baka last weekend pa siya nawawala, during one of our mall visits, tapos kagabi ko lang napansin. Suspetsa nga namin ni misis, napag-tripan lang talaga.

You're right, hindi nga pansinin ang rear wiper. One of those things that tend to be taken for granted. Oh well, the blade is practically a year old, so I'm probably due to have it replaced anyway. Pasalamat na lang ako na medyo mura yung piyesang dinale niya, at hindi ginalaw yung mga mahal palitan.

In my case, pati ba naman yung caps ng pito ng gulong ninanakaw. Eh plastic cheapo pa naman. I was able to narrow it down to them being stolen inside malls. This got me thinking: there are probably owners of cars who lost the caps, are either too lazy to buy new ones or too kuripot to get new ones. "hmm... wala namang tao at walang nakatingin, manakaw nga... " So in effect baka someone who's rear wiper is sira na, decides to steal someone else's wiper. Just another scenario.

tapos nakawin mo uli back from them..parang swap kau palagi ng hubcaps hehehe seriously dami nga ako nakikitang nawala na ung center cap..kita na ung mga hub nuts

nope, hindi po OEM wiper blades. in my own opinion, since rear wiper lang sya ok na yung medyo mura baka kuhanin lang ulit... at least that is my own opinion. it's still up to you kung kukuha ka mahal na OEM or not.

dali lang magpalit ng wiper blade so medyong di surprising na nawala to through nakaw. Imposible almost mawawala yan na nahulog or something.

pero since rear lang naman, kahit mga cheap blades pwede na, under 100 usually.
