2H - Rear Drive
4H - 4WD High - On road AWD. Use for greater traction on wet highways
4HLc - 4WD High, Locked Center Differential - Use for driving in sandy surfaces and snow/ice.
N - Neutral (transfercase in neutral)
4LLc - 4 Low - Low gear, for demanding 4x4 situations like mud, climbing etc.Last edited by pajerokid; April 27th, 2004 at 10:22 AM.

April 27th, 2004 02:08 PM #3pajerokid, thanks. when you say locked center diferential, does that mean that both left and rigt tires will turn regards less of what happens? hindi parang sa F150 ko na kung nakaangat ang isang gulong, it just keeps spinning and the other tire doesn't turn.

Don't get confused with locked center differential from your transfer case and differential locks from diff/axle ends.
Locked center diff manipulates power transfer front to rear towards prop shaft only. While differential locks perform by locking the left and right tire during traction slippage.

Lucky, tama sila. The center diff is there so that you can enjoy your 4WD onroad. Kung walang center diff or some similar device (conventional 4x4), you will encounter a condition called binding, wherein mahihirapan lumiko ang truck mo (among other symptoms). That's because roads are pretty 'makapit' and often do not provide enough slip for the tires to rotate for themselves (hence the need for a center diff).
Instinct na sakin ang paggamit ng 4H kapag umuulan. Better traction nga.
And meron akong theory (which of course could be false).... keeping your ride in 4H reduces brake locking. Diba, if you brake to the point of locking, kung gumagana ang 4WD, it will make the tires spin again.
Logical but again, just a theory.
Hehe! In any case, Oki talaga SS4!!!

Can't have the best of both worlds in one rig, tough luck for some like ours who doesn't have SS4.
