1991 Galant GTI what can you say?

What can you say about Galant GTI kc a friend of mine is selling her galant to me for 135k. I was thinking of pormohan ko sya with intention of not being primary car but more of spare car.

I want to know sana in terms of maintenance, gas consumption, and others..

Supposed to be a very desirable car. Parts aren't that big a problem, but like the others have said, age is a big problem.

Kung project car, okay yan. Spend a month stripping everything, removing rust, repairing welds, re-painting the car. Then go on to working on the interior and suspension... then swap for a 4G63T... hehehe.

Or... you could just buy it, keep it in good tune, and enjoy it.

Hehe... if I had enough money...

1. ano typical gas consumption nito?
2. carb type ba ito?

I've already seen the unit, its all stock, probably need repainting pag hinid madala sa exterior detailing pero otherwise ok naman sya. if ever this would be my first project car ... I don't plan using this everyday as alam ko malakas gas nito. sang makina ung 4G63T? heheh sori ala talaga me alam sa mga gasoline engine eh.

injected na yan bro. pag yung 4G63 NA, expect mga 7-8 km/liter on a light foot, city driving.

yung 4G63T, OEM engine ng galant VR4 yan bro. turbo intercooled, good for mga 210hp. if you choose to get the RS variant, 240hp stock yan.

pero with great power comes great gas consumption. i get mga 6 km/liter city driving, light foot on the gas sa galant ko. pero sa highway, di ka papahiyain niyan. kaya mo mag 8-9, 10 pa nga pag talagang tipid mode sa rektahan.

I've always liked the Galant GTI, l almost bought one some years back. Pero gaya ng sabi nila, the age of the car made me decide against it.

But if it's gonna be a project car, gusto ko yan.

*135K and still negotiable for a stock Galant GTi, thats already very good. For old cars, its always better to get it in stock form for lesser headache when it comes to repairs. Always check the body panels for rusts (door frames are the common rusty areas of the GTi and as well as the wheel wells). As soon as you get the car, check the electronics especially the ECU. A car more than 10yrs old is already a possible candidate for ECU replacement since the electrolytic capacitors tend to leak over time. Have it listed as one of the priorities sir.

If thats a 91 GTi, you will be getting Mark-I version. It has butterfly seats, 3-spoke steering and all power amenities except a power antenna which was released on the later versions of the Galant GTi 6G.

My daily driver is a 91 GTi. It gets 6-6.5km/liter on the city with a/c on (able to increase it between 7-8km/liter if i use the a/c sparingly). On the highway, average consumption is at 11-12km/liter with a/c on all the way.

the galant GTI for me the best locally released galant...ung 2 sumunod na locally released di na kasingsaya gamitin katulad ng GTI...ok, ung 2.0 V6 na galant, matulin, pero iba ang ride feel...kahit sa lancer: boxtype GT and singkit GTI..then after that, di na kasing fun ng 2 cars ung bagong lancer...

tama sila, the most well-maintained, UNMODIFIED galant GTI is the best buy.
