Guys, tama ba yung nadinig ko sa radyo kanina lang ng kaunti? I-implement na daw ang e-VAT/VAT (or whatever you want to term it) bukas? Kasi parang nadinig ko eh ang SC nag-rule na in favor of the new VAT.

my take on the matter is that:
1. the SC will rule the evat passed by congress as constitutional since taxation is within the power of congress. in the absence of any violation of the constitution, the separation of the three branches of government must be respected
2. the standy power of pandak arroyo to increase the tax is not constitutional since the power to tax is vested in congress and cannot be delegated
of course, until i read the decision, hula ko lang yung sa itaas
