NCRPO: Two cars stolen in Q.C. every 5 days

At least two cars are reported stolen in Quezon City every five days, the National Capital Region Police Office said Friday.

Deputy Director General Ricardo de Leon, NCRPO chief, said the data was based on statistics gathered by the Central Police District on reported cases of car theft in the city.

He said Toyota Corolla 2000 models were a prime target.

He said cases of car theft are rampant in the city's La Loma district, where at least two cars are taken by thieves every week.

La Loma is near Banawe district, known to car enthusiasts as a haven for second-hand spare parts and allegedly a haven for fenced items.

De Leon said the data provided by CPD is related to a study which indicates the rise of car theft incidents during the past two months. He said car theft cases rose by two percent compared to the same period last year. He did not elaborate.

sa village namin last week, 2 pajeros were carnapped (early morning, 1 street away of each other, me roving guards. a 3rd pajero was spared because of dead battery. the lock was broken, same vicinity. model 2000 up lahat) yung isa may just fired driver. the other owner driven. all were parked along the street.

naduduplicate ba yung keyless remote? can you guys give your insights/theories, possibilities? it could help sa ongoing investigation. thanks in advance

Possible entries thru rear sliding windows since it can easily be pried open with the use of a screw driver. Carnappers have eyed their target weeks before the incident. They probably knew those Pajeros had steering wheel locks which can be sawed away with slight movement to avoid triggering the alarm off. It could also be possible that they manipulated with the alarm first after breaking entry into the vehicle.

*me sindikato o bad elements(slum areas maybe) malapit sa scenes of carnapping
*mamahalin or in demand ang mga kotse

kaya magcomprehensive insurance na ho kayo mga bossing.. while your cars are still covered.

i would not take the hassle of disconnecting and connecting my batteries before i sleep and when i9m about to go somewhere the next day.

kaniya kaniya namang pag iingat yan eh.

kahit na ano pang alarm yan, anti-theft devices are not 100% effective, they are just there to make it harder for carnappers to take your car.

May mga car alarm na meron ignition kill, I wonder how foolproof this is? Yung steering wheel lock (ie. The Club) is useless daw. Kuha ka lang lagareng maliit and saw off yung part ng steering wheel na nagsasabit sa hook, and tapos ma.

Dati meron akong 81' Datsun 280ZX. Very cool looking car.

Madaling araw na yata to. Nabasa ko din yung kay Isko Moreno.

I also live in the area kaya medyo alarming nga tong mga pangyayari.
