for us americans, we are still at war. many people here don't want to think about it, or are in denial, but that doesn't change that fact. i guarantee that the other side doesn't think that way.

for the rest of the world, america's allies (specifically britain) have already been dragged into it, and other countries will feel the fallout from it as well.

so no, i don't feel that we are safe.

as long as there are still religious fanatics and mental retards out there who justify their acts in the name of the Supreme Being, with no regards for human lives whatsoever, we will never be safe.

by the way, they are promised to be with 70 virgins when they go to heaven after blowing themselves up...

how can you beat this kind of incentive anyway???

This is true. And thanks to media exposure and tactical coordination and information dissemination made available by the internet and other untraceable sources, they're getting more powerful than ever before.

The problem isn't only Islamic fundamentalism, per se, but a core group of fanatics who want to take control of things in the Middle East, who are using Islam as a weapon. The combination of political tensions, social inequity (the riches from the oil are concentrated in the hands of the governments and royalty) and poverty create a breeding ground for terrorism.

It is only by social development and uplifting the people that this can be changed, but with leaders more interested in making themselves wealthy and in spending oil riches on weapons (Iran), there will always be breeding grounds for terrorism.

A good example or mirror of this is the Philippines. The NPA, MNLF and MILF exist because of the social inequity and corruption in our government. If our government would only provide more opportunities in livelihood, business and rural development for people, there wouldn't be so much support for these wretched guerilla groups.

di tayo main target ng terrorists. that's the good news.

Pero ginagawa tayo pang practice. that's the bad news.

Ung LRT bombing, Ayala Center bombing, EDSA bus bombing, Superferry bombing, Davao airport bombing, etc... practicum lang ng mga terrorists before they move on to more important targets in that can really affect the West.

Walang halaga sa kanila ang buhay ng tao.

As long as the US shows its insensitivity towards Arabs and utter bias for the Zionist cause, they will always be under threat. The biggest example of this American policy during the latest Israeli-Hezbollah conflict. The Arab world is the key, whether the US doesn't like it or not.

Couldn't agree with you more. How much is the U.S. spending for its occupation of Iraq every month? Billions of dollars? Imagine if the U.S. just spent a fraction of that amount helping the Palestinians instead -- they'd make more friends and less enemies.

The current U.S. administration's world view is, unfortunately, misguided (to put it mildly).

bakit kaya si osama who's an arab billionaire is not the one who is helping his arab palestinian friends? why, because he doesn't give a damn. instead he's totally focused on using all his resources to eliminate americans, including innocent women and chidren.

granted that the u.s. pours billions of dollars in palestine, are you sure osama won't attack again if given the opportunity? hey, the u.s. is dealing with a lunatic fanatic here whose sole purpose in life is to eradicate americans from the face of the earth, no matter what.

sino ba nag-umpisa ng gulo, di ba hezbollah dahil inatake nila yung israeli outpost at me napatay na israeli soldiers? tapos kinidnap pa nila yung ibang soldiers?

kung ikaw ang israel at inaargabyado eh tatahimik ka na lang ba? syempre you have to do everything para sa self-preservation. of course, you expect your friend na kakampi sa iyo. the american policy is as simple as that.

Is Bush a born-again Christian? because he must be in a terribly misguided church. He doesn't act like one.

As long as US will be headed by the likes of Bush(es), America will never be safe. Osama's campaign is just for americans to leave Middle east. See, America have been sucking dry every nation it "allies" (more of take advantage of) with (Philippines included). Saudi's oil is supposedly for the world. But what happens? America gets to be the middle man of the oil to the world market. Who gets rich? America.

Isn't it a wonder why America is producing gas guzzlers? Simple, they want to accelerate the depletion and shortage of oil forcing a world oil crisis. Then use that to control the world.

That's the problem. Not the Arabs. America have been killing Arabian children and women with their remote controlled bombs (supposedly "smart" but im not sure how they define that word). These Arabs kill themselves on-site for this cause. They have been subjected to injustice for quite too long.

The world is either blind or full of mostly cowards who are afraid to face the real problem. America is the problem. They start wars between nations and earn billions through arms. What kind of sick business practice is that?

The coalition of the willing should have been called the coalition of the idiots. Idiots who let themselves be controlled and dragged into a war based on a lie. America says they are after Bioweapons (which, after several investigations, proved to be non-existent), but what are they doing there now? Drilling oil. So, it's all good that americans are killed there for raping these people.

Isn't it funny that 9/11 was allegedly done by a Saudi (Osama) then they attacked Iraq? Makes you think who really did the 9/11. Americans or Arabs. Just look who benefited a lot.

America used to be great. It's just sad that it's controlled by shameless people using their power to get more money and more power.

A commodity which, on the end of days is useless.
