August 16th, 2019 10:31 AM #27152Let me just put this here, my 2 cents' worth if you will. I'm really sick and tired of the label "homophobic", especially when used to call out straight men and women who are simply "uncomortable" sharing a public bathroom with LGBT.
It's a fact going to the bathroom to do one's thing is a private affair. A private/intimate moment. It is NOT a time to socialize or to bond with another human being, period. More so if that other human being happens to be a complete stranger. In recognition of that fact , there's a cubicle or divider separating one user from another, and on the bigger picture, there are separate public bathrooms for women and separate public bathrooms for men.
Women are just not "comfortable" sharing a bathroom with men, and vice versa -- especially when the other s-e-x is a stranger, as what is expected in a public bathroom. If that weren't true, then why did anyone bother putting up two separate bathrooms when we can all share the same public bathroom all of us, men and women happily doing our thing in one big communal room?
The LGBT poses an additional level of awkwardness to the situation, whether we admit it or not. It's just human nature kicking in on a very private moment. To label such "feeling" as "homophobic" is jut plain wrong, IMO.

August 16th, 2019 10:47 AM #27154Now that you mention it, I'm not really sure if I read it here or somewhere else. Like I said earlier, I think this particular issue has been blown way out of proportion and I've been hearing and/or reading that word "homophobic" again, more often than I'd want to -- and since this is the forum I mostly post to anyway, I just thought I'd post my own thoughts about it here. No references to anybody in particular, just in general.

Sigurado nag nagtaray din yan "you've been 'gram bitch!"

August 16th, 2019 10:58 AM #27157I never actually watched the video of this incident in detail nor did I follow it up that much on other social media forums, but somewhere in my mind I was thinking that the janitress may have been "provoked" so to speak to act in a more "aggressive" manner. I was even thinking that maybe the janitress have told the trans to use the other bathroom but the trans is hard headed and won't listen. She's been told not just once but maybe many many times and just refuses to listen, so what's a poor janitress to do when someone keeps ignoring her "authority"?
So somehow I was correct because the trans did actually come back to sort of taunt her with implied threat by "videoing" her -- and that really irritated the janitress more. She should have just asked to talk to management if she wanted to fight for her rights.

August 16th, 2019 11:05 AM #27159when the line is long, the weather is hot, and my bladder is ready to burst, i would welcome and even pray for, special treatment!
heh heh.
seriously, these folks should install more service bays inside the ladies'room.
while us men easily do it, standing up, ladies have "ceremonies" to follow...
