If I have a block in my heart or I have a problem in my spine or my kidney is not functioning. I am so scared. It's so different when your life is in danger of being taken away from you and it's not in your own terms.

I have a friend who always exaggerates her sickness and always saying that she will die soon, though we all know she is perfectly normal. She has the healthiest lifestyle ever! Even her Dad, when she tells me about him, akala mo dying na. But he's healthy! I hope she never has to experience what I am going through.

Ah. The Pinay's penchant for gossip. Yesterday, one of my wife's friends called while we were driving to a store. She had "news scoop" about another Pinay's acquaintance who also happened to be Pinay. The thing was, she was relating the stuff in English, unaware we were all in the wife's car and the call being routed (via Bluetooth) to the car speakers. My daughter and I smiled at the details while my wife frantically told her friend to switch to Waray. Viagra, eh?

i closely watch him while he is at mercury drug and notice that he keeps on looking to his shirt pocket. while he was buying meds, i also overheard him buying something else and just a single tablet. so i approach him, look into his pocket and saw some money. ask him what is he up to and why is he buying something that he obviously dont need and its not for kids too. told him he should be ashamed of himself. theres more people behind him who might be in much worst situation and the money i gave him would have help them greatly. told him there is police station nearby and he might need to come with me. he scuttles away without getting the medicine on the counter that he paid for.

this isnt the 1st time i encountered people like him but still believe there are still genuine people out there who genuinely needs help. but yesterday really tested this belief. this is one of the reason why people stop helping altogether. i might just look the other way next time.
take ko dito, me giving or not is between me and God. kung hindi ako nagbigay dahil sa maling judgement(mukhang manloloko pero legit pala yung need), i will be held accountable for that. them cheating is between them and God. Kung nagsinungaling at niloko ako konsensya na nila yun. they will be held accountable for it. that said, i usually give spare change lang naman...

Ang problema minsan, people can sense if you're "weak" -- i.e. naive, gullible, mabait. It's not a big stretch to think they will "target" you the next time to pass by, kasi alam nilang nagbibigay ng limos ang taong to. Call me selfish and paranoid, but i'd rather keep a low profile.

If you really want to help, there are a lot of organizations, churches, etc that you can give your donations to.

    Some of my misadventures:

    - i once went with my relatives to a public market to buy tuyo. As we were boarding a van, a group of kids suddenly mobbed us, asking for money. They were already making their way into the van. i sensed they could be pulling some sort of salisi by keeping us distracted, so i forcibly pushed them out and closed the van door. We were all in shock for the first few minutes.

    - When i was younger, i made the mistake of giving some change to some street kids. The kids then called out to all the other kids, pretty soon our car got mobbed by beggars.

    - On the way home, some guy came on board to beg for money, saying that he needs medicine for some major illness, pwede daw niya ikamatay. When he got off, the conductor commented that the guy had been pulling that racket for years now.

    - i was riding a jeep to work one day, saw this pregnant lady carrying a baby, and some other belongings. The girl's face was bruised up. i pieced up the backstory, probably some probinsiyana trying to get away from an abusive partner. She didn't ask for anything...call it a moment of weakness -- inabutan ko ng pera when i got off.
